OFFICIALS SLAGGING OFF OUR TEAM AT HALF TIME - ITK

They seem happy to accept it from Rooney every week.
Which I completely agree is wrong. Doesn't make it any more acceptable for Bellamy to be doing it though.

Bellamy was sent off for two things yesterday; one of which he had full control over.

As he didn't dive, I assume you are referring to his verbal outburst. No idea what he said but a leopard cannot change his spots so I don't really see how Bellers had much control over his dismissal. Lets hope we appeal and win.

Can't be appealed.

Don't see the need for this to be a Hughes in or out debate, and I certainly didn't say anything of the sort yesterday...

However, I still say that there is nothing worth ranting about in what was in the original post about what Steve Wigley is alleged to have heard. There may have be more to the conversation which was genuinely disgraceful, or the ref may have said something to Bowen that was worse, but some people need to get down off their high horse regarding what has been said to have been said in this thread IMO.

No doubt Twattenburg and his assistants had an absolute fucking mare yesterday though - and I wouldn't say it was too much of a conspiracy theory to say they seemed to actually want us to lose... What can you do though?

We have barely had a 50-50 even go in our favour this year. Protecting the status quo? Maybe. We have to find a way to get past it though, and I'm not sure constant moaning and criticising the refs does anything more than harden their stance towards us.

Lets not cloud the thread with Hughes' Managing / how we felt the team played, this is a thread about
OFFICIALS SLAGGING OFF OUR TEAM AT HALF TIME - ITK

I see it as there are 3 main points...

1) A referee should be impartial - if he did say what Hughes/ Bolton guy supposedly heard, then it is completely unprofessional and does show Bias , as Bellamy's sending of was very dubious, hence what he said WAS very important, as it shows that instead of making a mistake, he was NOT impartial.

2) Boltons first goal was off side, which does not help any of the officials cause if said conversation did take place, as once again this shows what could be written off as an error could now be seen as bias.

3) Whilst watching Silvinhio's challenge, he was the last man and should have been sent off - If I'm honest (and I'm sure if you are all honest 90% of you would agree) I was expecting a red card. This again shows an injustice against Bellamy - he was obviously refereeing leniently for all other players on the pitch!

Hughes / Gary Cook should be reporting them first thing Monday morning - why else would Hughes say anything to the BBC - he is not a mindless cock after loosing, or decisions going against him (unlike Baconface).

End of.

There are some strong views re Refs on this thread and normally I try to defend the 'men in black' its a thank less job. In Mark Clattenburg's case I would make an exception. I really do think his integrity is very questionable.

Unfortunately, Clattenburg will do well because he can be relied upon by his employers to do their dirty work. I wouldn't say the Premier league is up there with Serie A (yet) but anyone who thinks that there is not corruption and manipulation of results is frankly naive. Mistakes and wrong decisions are part of a game overseen by humans - but the mistakes seem to have a clever knack of supporting by and large the bigger players. There is a powerful order in English football and that order is under threat like never before. Just as in any walk of like the most powerful businesses will act to protect their dominant position - especially when their very existance is threatened - and that is probably the case for Liverpool - if they miss out on the top 4 they will be in the wilderness for years.

Clattenburg is known to have been on lads holidays with Liverpool players - none of us can prove it but he looks like he's either following orders or embarking on a one man crusade to save the dippers season. Or maybe I'm just getting paranoid. The rest of the season will probably provide the answer.

I think one or two of my staff are twats, treat them the same as everyone else though.

I just can't believe that refs up and down the country don't have similar conversations. If a player spent 45 minutes calling me every name under the sun I'd certainly mention it to my colleagues, and I probably wouldn't be complimentary.

Doesn't mean I'd try and send him off though.

I don't particularly understand your logic (surprise, surprise). IF the officials were slagging off our players either within ear shot of the management, then that's wholly inappropriate. The notion that it goes on week in and week out is very hard for me to believe, because as many people have pointed out, it does call into question the integrity of the officials in question, and is just completely unprofessional.

You also have mentioned a few times that if Fergie had said the same thing, that this place would be in meltdown or something like that. Well, again, I don't see what your point is? That there is a bias towards City on bluemoon, or a bias against United? So fucking what? It's a City board, and as such, even you can acknowledge that that's okay...

Oh, and finally...I'm not entirely sure I understand how you've come to the conclusion that Hughes was trying to cover up for "another shit result". Are you suggesting that the officiating didn't have an impact on the final result?

EddH: I agree with points 1 & 2 but the last man does not come into it as the ref has to decide if he denied a goal scoring opportunity and as the bolton player stay on his feet and went on to make an attempt on goal then he clearly didn't

Dom: The reason no appeal can be made is that it was two yellows and a yellow cannot be appealed
