Oleksandr Zinchenko | Joins Arsenal for £30m

He is an amazing story and one that everyone not in the first team at the club should take note of, having had really unproductive loans spells but.... making himself valuable to the club anyway always gave his all and pretty much never(if ever playing in what I'm sure he would consider)his best position.

Nonetheless we won the League Matt, everyone on here wants us to improve defensively when we were the joint best, Zinchenko is much more than just a full back and can still improve.
If he's happy to stay and fight then I'm more than happy to keep him.

He has been a great signing but we have an opportunity to make significant money while improving our left back position.

He isnt ever getting better in a position that doesnt come natural,and he isnt good enough to play where he does for his country - its the perfect time to part ways.

What exactly is he fighting for and how can he win that fight? You can only give what you have, no matter how hard I train I wouldn't last 5 seconds with a professional boxer.

Zinchenko is NOT a fullback! hours of training and "fighting" wouldn't change that. I would have loved to see him in the midfield but Pep doesn't seem interested in that idea so the best thing for both parties right now is for Zinch to move on!

He's still not a fullback? will another 125 games in the position do it? He's been used there by clubs for about 7 years now.

I believe that under Pep the orthodox full back everyone seems to want would fail, you have to have more to your game to play in our team. Zinchenko isn't the best but he'll do for me.

Most won’t agree but IMO Zin has been far more important to this side than Ake. I think we should have taken the money for Ake, signed a cheap 4th CB or promoted from within. Used the Ake money to sign Cucurella or AN Other. Started the season with Cancelo, Walker, Zin and the new LB as our full backs.

Sorry mate, but clubs don't build their squad around possible future injuries. We would be much more exposed if Kev or Bernardo would be out, but still we don't have 4 top creative mids right now (but only 3, plus McAtee).

Did you ask yourself for a moment why the club prefers 4 Cbs to 4 FBs? Closing the center has been key in our defensive improvement over the last years.
We can have workarounds on both fullback positions though and it's still enough to win the league, but not enough to win the CL.

Zinny being our swiss knife is a nice idea but bottom line he does NOT play other positions ever than LB and we know he has defensive deficits. As much as I like the lad like most on here, our club has to further improve our superb squad and LB is defo improvable.

Zinny has to think about his career as well and with Cancelo the beast he isn't even our 1st LB and won't be in the future! He needs to play more than just 1,840 minutes per season, that's simply not enough for - as some claim - such a 'cult hero'.
