Gut feeling is he's coming now and Mangala will go the other way

We can't have one of

Our skipper
The most expensive defender in English football
The second most expensive defender In English football

Sitting on the bench every other week
If it's £28.5m, shirley he wouldn't be the second most expensive.

Rio Ferdinand is the second most expensive defender at £30m. Otamendi would cost £28.5m according to Cadena SER.

Not another loan :|

Funny enough it'd make sense a loan this time though and then come back when MDM leaves next year

Yeah, I don't it's that bad of an idea. Let Mangala get some game time in Valencia, improve on him in the short-term, then bring him back and let MDM go back to Argentina.

Back four options of Kompany, Otamendi, Mangala and Denayer would be awesome.

Its not like Mangala is some fucking prospect. He is 24 already. Makes no sense to loan Mangala, better to sell him if we are going to get rid.

What if this guy takes a season to settle in then we are no better off sending mangala away

I can see him replacing demi, that makes more sense to me

But then in a years time when Demi leaves we are short of a CB, makes sense to loan him for a year and bring him back

I'd keep Mangala, I think in 2/3 years we would look back and regret letting him go - he's got all the attributes.

Loan deal for mangala would be a good idea, hopefully would get plenty of play time on loan, then would replace Demi in a years time

He is 24, but he is still very, very raw and some defenders just take time to truly develop. If we think we are better in the short-term by keeping MDM around instead of Mangala, I don't think it's that bad of an idea. Plus, Mangala has received a lot of stick (rightly or wrongly) from last year and moving him on now might be akin to when we moved on Savic at his lowest value point.
