Other fans reactions to the CL loss against Chelsea

I live in Leeds and TBF virtually every Leeds fan I have spoken to has sympathised with me and said that they were gobsmacked when they heard the team selection.
Genuine football fans understand the game and understand what has made City tick this season.

We played 81 out of a possible 82 games so if you think the quadruple was paper talk then I’d think again.. Criminal we didn’t do it... absolutely criminal we didn’t win a treble
The insinuation was we were all at it from the start of the season i.e we were at it from the get go.

trebles/quadruples incredibly difficult but yeah we were damn close, but I don’t start the season thinking it’s on, just happy to go for the PL and anything else a bonus

That's the vibe I get too.

Congrats on winning, you were the better side in a tight(ish) game, as those with a brain expected (it to be tight).

Yeah, the only people I see actively root against City are United fans and whoever you're competing for the title against, in recent years that would be Liverpool fans.

Thanks mate. I'm totally overjoyed, the buzz still hasn't worn off. I've stayed away and tried to post as little as possible on this site as I didn't want to come across as gloating or needlessly rubbing it in your faces.

When the hurt subsides, I think you'll all be proud of the season you've had. You absolutely wiped the floor with us all in the league.

You're not in Long Eaton are you? I was the solitary fan there for a while. Pubs full of Reds and Dippers and kicking off royally when the Florist and the Sheep shaggers used to play.
Had some incredible fish and chips in Long Eaton last week. Never been an easy town to run a pub. Long history of failed pubs and bars in that town. Could see it becoming gentrified one day. Cheap, decent housing and very well situated. Town centre could be made really attractive with a huge influx of investment.

I spent the 90's getting my only joy from the failure of the rags etc - to the point of actually wanting the dippers under Evans to be successful. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the roles would be this firmly reversed again. Enjoy the salty tears.

I already was, winning the league is and always will be the ultimate, anyone can lose a one off cup game whether it be FAC 3rd round, or final, or the final of the CL.

I'm over it, still disappointed but there it is, nothing I can do.

You’re a great poster, mate. You’ve always been respectful on here.

Walking about in my City top yesterday (I now live in between Notts and Derby) and noticed a lot of blokes grinning as they saw the top, as though, losing in a CL final was some great embarrassment or like you would look at the fans of a team as though we'd spent the last year claiming we're the greatest team of all time and we're guaranteed to win it. Had some bloke shouting Chelsea, Chelsea and laughing, turns out he doesn't even support Chelsea I was like mate, just glad to have even got there tbf.

Then you've got social media. Fuck me it's rife on there. Impossible to escape it. Pure glee, gloating (from fans of teams not actually in the final) and digs. As though we somehow failed at acheiving something we were guaranteed to win, like it was an FA Cup final against Brentford and we lost after giving it the big un all day. Or as though to us this was the be all and end all of the season. When it wasn't.

I think a big part of it is that no matter what we do (winning the league for example) a lot of fans can't handle just how good we are and they're jealous, scared even. A lot of them hate us. So anything to divert away from, say for example the FACT THAT WE JUST WON THE FUCKING LEAGUE, is jumped on, over emphasised and made a huge deal out of.

But no one cares about little old City though. You know who cares less that no one cares about City? City fans. Couldn't give a fuck. It's about what we get from this, always has been. We don't have that mindset. Imagine supporting Liverpool or Utd where you become less a fan of your own achievements because they mean less to you than what other fans can say about you. Or a some dickhead fan who supports a team that won't win anything and instead of being fine with that, secretly masturbate over being a utd fan, and hating City even though we're within less than a 1000 miles from the team you support.
An awful lot of words for someone for someone who, “doesn’t give a fuck”.
