Our current badge.

With what John said about our current badge in the tattoo thread, it got me thinking what would people change if they could? Would most people prefer to just swap back to our old badge (as i would), or would you prefer something new, but more relevant to us as a club and our history.

The thing is that old retro badge was a curse to us! That was our badge from 1972 until 1997. In that time we won one trophy and went from one of the countries giant clubs to a joke of a club in the third division!

The Manchester Coat of Arms or this are our best badges:

The bottom one but with the stripes instead of the rose.

But, we must stick with tradition and only wear the Manchester Coat of Arms for the final

Doesnt look like ive got much support for my campaign for the rose.

The red rose represents a family from Lancaster from centuries ago! What's that got to do with our football club?

It also represents Lancashire as a whole, and i still consider myself part of Lancashire, and our club part of it too.

"The rose was first adopted as an heraldic device by the first Earl of Lancaster and became the emblem of Lancashire following the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485."

616 years of history.

But the three stripes represent the rivers of MANCHESTER. Thousands of years of history and no mention of some daft family from 44 miles away! Plus Lancastrians have got a daft accent like they're talking with a sweet in their mouth!

You do know we were part of Lancashire untill they came up with the idea of Greater Manchester? "Greater Manchester was created on 1 April 1974 as a result of the Local Government Act 1972." So did all Mancunians talk with a sweet in their mouths anytime before 39 years ago?
