Paqueta Charged By The FA.

I wonder how he'd have got on with us, had things turned out differently. He had a nasty habit of kicking anything that moves.

Think he'd have been brilliant but you do have to wonder whether his eagerness to get stuck in (one of the things that would've been a plus to his move here and playing in our midfield) stemmed from a bet rather than his actual playing style!

Such a shame because he's a lovely footballer to watch.

How comes that the Tonali news broke and within weeks he was banned for 10 months last year (in Italy) and here we have Paqueta who was about to join City August 2023 and the news broke he was involved in some betting scandal and investigation still going on more than a year later. at this rate he will retire before the case is done.

its more an FA investigation than PL, but have the feeling if this happens in Serie A they would have come to a conclusion long time ago.

If he had joined us he would have been banned within days.

Sssshhh.

Delighted if he somehow gets away with this, despite not having the best start to this season he is still a fantastic player and exciting to watch.

Tonali was simply just making bets, Paqueta is accused of a form of match fixing.
Tonali also had clear evidence against him, such as other players grassing him up, and his accounts being seen (why the gambling companies get away with allowing players have accounts, and only pull them up when they win big is beyond me). Ultimately he quickly admitted the charges. I’m also not convinced the first we heard about it was when it was at an early stage, and that it was much further down the line.
Paqueta is denying everything, and as it was other people making the bets, it’s harder to prove.

Hasn’t started the last two games.
What’s the situation with his ban?
Does anyone think we’re still in for him?

Not a clue, to be honest. I’ve not kept up with the case.

He’ll have retired by the time a verdict is made.
