No wonder some on here think they is a agenda , we didn’t boo the team off , am actually pissed off and I never really get pissed off , we didn’t boo the team off and if any of you did you are a ****
 
You tell ‘em, Pepcito. Some of the sobbers at half-time need to give their heads a wobble. Get behind the bloody team, the team that have played the best football, and won the most games, and the most trophies, in your lifetime. When the place gets loud, it’s a fucking great place to be. Or it could be like the Dog days of Bobby Manc or Pelligirini. It’s up to you.
 
Other than Ederson, Pep's starting eleven was spot on, they just needed to be reminded to 'kick on' rather than fizzle out after a few passes. When the reins were off, they were excellent.

The bench was largely made up of whingers and those too close to their sell-by dates for comfort.

Time for a few hard truths to be swallowed. Possession for the sake of it doesn't work any more. Get bums off seats, generate some noise and passion.
Unleash the hounds. Let play flow. I really don't care if a match ends up 6-5 as long as we win.

Shame he didn't use those words weeks ago. Has he only just realised that we've been shite for ages?
 
The big positive from last night is that Pep has cleared up the issue of the slow,boring backwards and sideways shite. He said he doesnt encourage it and wants a high tempo.
The players need to get their finger out so and play in this manner. Looking forward to the return of the entertaining swashbuckling city ala second half last night .
 
Pep knows full well there are problems with desire and hunger in this team right now and he isn't afraid to call it out. Hopefully sparks the fire in the squad again.

Everyone needed an attitude adjustment, including Pep. Thankfully what last night showed is that regardless of his soft demeanour over the last month or so, his frustration was building as much as ours.

That was the most Guardiola that Guardiola has been in a while. From team selection to tactics to the post match press conference.

From here we kick on, and in the summer hopefully we refresh the squad a bit more.

I think part of what some people get frustrated at is that they can't understand the fact that Pep says one thing in front of the cameras and another to his players in private.

Usually after terrible performances I can't watch his interviews because I know he's going to tone everything down for the sake of protecting them.

The fact we won last night gave him more freedom to call out everyone associated with the club and it's got me ready to run through brick walls for the club. I hope everyone who can have an impact on the pitch responds in the same way.

Yeah, I agree. I think he also had a hand in some of the issues, so that made it harder for him to fillet the players. Otherwise maybe after the Chelsea league game he'd have gone in two footed on them. Either way, glad he's done it and sent the message upstairs too about everyone being complacent and 'happy flowers'. Watching Arsenal and Chelsea be aggressive in the transfer market and United slowly creeping up will require a reaction from City IMO.

I love his sarcasm but I love it more when the veil drops and he goes fully in. It tends to only happen once every year or two and it always gets me fired up.

You can only do what Pep did yesterday once.

He's had to pick his moment very carefully, which is probably why it took so long.

You have to do it after some sort of comeback or victory because otherwise you're just piling on when the players are at rock bottom, you can't do it when the team is top of the league and in all the cups because the players think it's an overreaction. Similarly you can't do it after a boring, regulation 1-0 or 2-0 where they got away with being lackadaisical because the players will convince themselves they can turn it on when needed.

He's probably been waiting for this kind of game of two halves for a while. It wouldn't have worked after any of the previous games when we've looked poor since the world cup.
