I think this is the first week in the season we haven’t got a midweek game, since the fa cup final Pep has had very little time to train with the team, hes said it himself. They play, next day recover, following day come in for a tiny bit of training then they have another game or are travelling to a game. You have multiple injuries then you have to fit players in, Nunes will have had about 2 possibly 3 trading sessions to fit in at left back, apart from his fuck up he did ok.
Pep said you can’t do tactics on a white board you must train together, hopefully this week he can sort something out or some of the senior players need to step up and have a word why it’s not working, if they think they aren’t capable of carrying out this system let him know, hopefully he would listen. Top 4 this year is a must and a few good performances, I don’t think any signings in January will make a huge difference.
Let’s hope he can get the defensive coaches out of hibernation. :-)

To suggest pep is finished is laughable go back 12 games a couple of months nobody was questioning him then . Everything was happy days. The we pick up some really bad injuries losses come form and confidence is damaged. We will get ourselves out of it no doubt still finish in the top 4 and hopefully have a good crack at the cups we r left in.
What have you seen in the last two months to suggest this? Top 8 isn't even a given at present. All I'm seeing is us getting worse... highlighted by yet another inexcusable capitulation on Sunday.

Bournemouth and Liverpool apart we have not deserved to lose any of the other games imo even spurs we should have been 2 up before they had a kick of the ball. The capitulation are a worry I will give u that. Think a settled defence and kovacic back in the midfield will help massively a few wins over Xmas will see us right. We are not as bad as its being made out.

pace and stamina is now more important than exceptional ball control/vision. Risk of injury has increased, The shelf-life of players, at the highest level of performance is maybe as low as 3 years. This was forecast by the manager of the Portuguese national side ten years ago, I think he was correct, though it has been accelerated by the increase in the amount of games played. I believe counter-attacking is successful against a team pre-conditioned to attack in numbers, the main reason is it's simplicity, versus highly technical rondo-esque tactics that need a level of co-ordination that only a settled team can provide Other opinions are available....

Don't look at the last 2 months in isolation, that's pointless. Look at the people we have, and think about te next 5 months. We are still highly likely to finish top 4.

Dilemma.

Does Pep take charge of the rebuild and hand over to someone else a year or so later?

Or does he right the ship the best he can, with Hugo Viana and the next manager owning the revamp from scratch?

Just a thought.

Could be a possibility now, I don’t think when he extended he thought this possible, now it’s a huge job on his hands would he mentally be able to.
