Not for me, yes Khusanov made a mistake against Chelsea but then again who in this fucking team hasn't gifted the opposition a goal this season ? difference is Khusanov is strong and fast which are useful, Lewis has pretty much nothing at all as a defender.
He's very new to a complicated system, he's also very young and learning his CB trade. It maybe that he didn't want to confuse the kid.

Personally I would be pretending that Lewis doesn't exist than ever put him back in the team. He's absolutely nowhere near first team level and never will be.

He's fucked up the UCL 8 times in 9 years. He's a Prem legend and a UCL underachiever at City. That's just the facts...
It’s a tournament where you’re invariably punished if you make one mistake, as he’s keen on saying, but we now have a team that makes so many and not just in the closing quarter.

I don't think you're being reasonable. Stones in midfield today was a good move and we'd likely have won the game comfortable but for the Akanji injury and the usual Ederson idiocy.

If he's still picking the old guard this time next year I'll agree with you.
Disagree we’d have won comfortably, they created more than us

Yeah mate let's pay 40 million for a guy and not use him because it might confuse him, how are these young lads going to learn anything if they don't play ? OK he doesn't start the game but with Akanji's injury you've got the excuse to play him, if it doesn't work you so be it he only played because of the injury to Akanji, why use Lewis when you know full well he's never going to be a good defender ?

Meh Madrid still created plenty of chances with Stones in midfield, whenever they had the ball they looked dangerous.

I'm just speculating on the thought process.

I totally agree ref Lewis.
The quicker he is moved on the better football will be for it.

16 incredible years and you're writing him off because we kept a few guys a year too long. Come off it.
When did I write him off ? I said he's not the best manager in the world by a considerable distance anymore like you claimed, not that he's shite and should be sacked, come off it.

I understand, Lewis knows how to play the inverted role and Khusanov doesn't, except the inverted FB role doesn't work anymore and especially not with Lewis, and he has no defensive qualities at all unlike Khusanov, could've just told Khusanov to stick with Vinicius and play like a normal defensive FB, but no Pep is obsessed with this inverted thing.

Just so frustrating yet again. Yes we have been poor this season but Madrid were there for the taking in the first half and we didn't even try to attack them. Then the game was screaming out for subs and when he finally made them they were the wrong ones. Kev was fucked after 60 minutes but pep is just waving his arms about. His tactics/ game management have been dog shit all season

Understanding all that 1 CL title in 9 years with the squads we've had is underachieving...

Lets hope fot top 4 finish, and then we can thank him and he can move on.

Imagine spending 200m in January, and yet none of the 200m players could have improved the team

Done a lot better than our previous mangers in the Champions League.
Yes because the bar was set so high. What are we doing? Pep is a great manager but he's been well below par in the CL at City...

A few semi finals and quarter finals. We got conned out of the Liverpool game and to some extent Spurs for starters. A lot better than Pellegrini and Mancini.

What he's achieved domestically will not be replicated by anyone. But he's in danger of ruining his legacy.
It's time for him to have a rest, the players to get some new input and for the fans to see a different style if football. We've got Foden, Marmoush, Haaland, Savinho, Doku.
Let's use them.
The old guard Kev, Gundo, Bernie have been wonderful but time has caught up with them.
