Been really disappointed with the way pep has handled this run of form. He is reluctant to try anything different and instead continues to play the same old players who can’t do it anymore.

I really thought he would find a solution tactically but it appears the only solution is to buy better players.

The lack of trust in the youngsters is really frustrating
So you want pep to throw youngsters into a struggling team?

Fuck. Me.

Not all at once. But it would have been nice to see wright be given a chance against palace away for example. Or use Simpson pusey against United rather than play nunes at lb (easy solution play gvardiol lb and Simpson Pusey comes in at cb)

I just don’t see how they could have done any worse tbh.

The man is untouchable.

We all know it and so do the players.

He is Khaldoon’s man and has been a unparalleled success.

A bad season won’t change anything.

Pep if anything is being too loyal atm. Why? Because this group of players have went above and beyond. Reached untold heights.

Unfortunately most are injured/old/tired/lost the fight.

The boss has done his best for them this season and when he is telling 5 to go in the summer they will not be able to argue. We need this season unfortunately to shed our skin and go again.

Let’s turn a shitty situation into a positive.

Buying the right players to replace is very difficult.

They would either sink or swim but throwing a youngster in has to be done at the right time. Cup games against lower opposition, 10 or 15mins if we've already got a game won but when we're on this stinking run putting them in when the team as a whole is making mistakes isn't ideal.

All this "change it" guff - will result in exactly the same outcome with even worse performances. The players were recruited to play a specific system only.
Not to flick a switch and play traditional, footeh at pace.
Unfortunately we're stuck with this until new recruits arrive and injury ravaged players return.
You can't definitively say that until it happens. It's also like saying when Pep does eventually leave the full squad of players will have to go with him because they're not capable of playing another system.

One of the things that has made Pep so successful at city and throughout his career is how he has constantly tweaked and developed how his teams play. The brand we play now is a million miles away from what made us successful.

What is stopping him from tweaking it to make us a little more difficult to score against? I'm not suggesting he overhaul the whole system, making us a little harder to score against would be a start.

If he doesn’t play them we'll never know if they are worse, but 1 win in 12 suggests it couldn’t be any worse could it? Or do you think it would be none in 12?

He did play vs Feyenoord and you saw what happened.

Has not helped his case.. but I think Pep is still babying him even if he's not good enough.

Age, injuries and fatigue!

It's a young man's game.. like we once saw David Silva, Balotelli, Kun Aguero, Dzeko come into the league and destroy the team that had won 4 in 5 PL's 6-1 on their own ground!

Tweak being the operative word. Small adjustments were all that were necessary since his arrival. Then bingo!
This collective can now play only one way and be successful. His developing of how his teams play has been consistently similar.
We are playing how we are because the widgets are thin on the ground, and forced to play out of position.
He may well be a genius, but sorry to break it to you, he is a genius at his style of play.

Pep won't. He hasn't even altered it when we were still conceding easier goals when were at our dominant best. Like all highly successful manager they stick to what they know. Individual error is the biggest flaw in his system.
