We don't need a rebuild, we need 2 midfielders, a striker and a RB. That can be done in January and the summer.

Our attacking players, KDB aside, are still young or in their prime. Our defenders are in their prime, Gvardiol and Lewis are young.

Gundo and KDB need replacing or phasing out. Kova and Bernardo are good enough to start 30-35 games a season. Note that Foden can play in midfield, Lewis too. Rodri will be back. No need for a dramatic rebuild of the squad.

I guess Viana will be the judge of that. So that’s four players out of eleven, seems like a rebuild to me.

4 new players, not 4 starters. We don't need to replace Haaland (yet). Also, Lewis is only 20 and can play 25 games at RB if he gets better which is expected to happen. We need another RB, not necessarily another firm starter at RB.

Basically, we need one firm starter in midfield. And that's debatable too, because Nunes may play there, we'll know more by the end of the season. A high quality midfielder is needed anyway.

Nobody is saying playing youth is the full solution, but it's being ignored as an option
 
Pretty sure our youth are used more than the vast majority of other clubs that use theirs?
Maybe seems like an odd criticism.
 
What did we learn today in defeat? Playing some of the youngsters on the bench, in particular Wright, even in defeat would have provided us with more answers. Played well enough at Spurs. Just another opportunity missed.
 
Pep needs to deal with that his first plan to deal with Rodri's absence is failing, the all the control players at one approach. For me, if we see Kova-gundo-Bernardo again then pep is stitching those guys up to fail and take pelters. He needs to try some other iteration.

He needs to find the solution to letting countless goal scoring players leave the club

We’ve got no goal threat out wide, where previously we had Mahrez , Sterling and Sane

We’ve literally got no back up to our main centre forward

Our goal scoring midfielders are over the hill

Haaland blows hot and cold depending on where he’s at with his fitness

Foden is a shadow of the player from last season, I think something’s gone on when he’s away with England , he’s not been the same since the summer he’s spent being ignored for every pass from his supposed teammates

I’m normally a believer but I think this seasons a write off

We need some heavy hitters to arrive next summer to replace some of our legends that have gone a season too far
 
he used to reinvent the team year on year, now I dont see whats the big idea really. tactically not much going on, new arrivals aint changing much either and the injuries even work like wrecking ball to what at least worked last season.

there will be quite a lot of games where we create fuck all for Haaland and his role is really not helpful in those games as off the ball he is not a threat. also who is there to punish defenders. do they double up on Haaland, do they double up on Savinho? ok who is there to then make a run into the box, move others away from the ball. nobody.

lots of passing between our defenders high up, Gvardiol, Dias, Akanji will not do the defence splitting passes(neither Kova), also move the ball quick enough. out to the left, back to Gvardiol. then we lose and a counter splits us. conceded quite a few goals like this already.

Gundo had this skill to arrive in the box in great rhythm, create panic,chances, assists, goals, but thats the Gundo of 21-22, 22-23. Barca sent back the Gundo of season 28-29. :)

overall this City team is a bit slower, less energy and just general tiredness and quite a few players badly out of form. bit of a worry in early November as the schedule just getting serious now.
maybe lack of proper pre-season is a factor, lack of new impact from transfers and lack of transfers in general but that is partially what was preferred by Txiki and Pep otherwise they could have done much more.

we had this before, looking almost poor early on then it clicks after January and we look unstoppable. never really did that tho without Rodri, and he is more than just a great number 6, his match winning goals, momentum and power in the middle, to drive us forward, its really missing.

Did you see the amount of messages immediately after the defeat? All saying how Pep can't deal with this situation, or how this is his last sesson, or how he lost the game because of no subs.

Of course a doctor has a huge saying in how long a player coming back from injury can play. From previous press conferences Doku was not expected to play until after the international break. Even more if you focus on his minutes, you see he didn't have his explosiveness and acceleration. He was being very careful.

I saw your messages getting after people who said differently to you. That's what I was bothered about.

And a doctor is not going to say "10 mins". It an absolute nonsense. A doctor is going to detail potential risk. Not, 10 mins fine, 20 mins bad, 30 mins dead
 
Dont understand why we have the injured Players on the bench if its not planned to get in at any result. I know its not the perfect solution but if we have no trust in our academy lads rn, when should they step up? I don’t get it only to sit on the bench to not be used as an alternative.
