What goes through his head starting the likes of Walker and Gundogan again, telling the players who can't fucking move to try and press?

He is no opposed to changing his approach at times, he did it against Arsenal when KBD and Haaland destroyed them on the counter after we essentially parked the bus.

Why not give up on the press that causes more problems than it helps and have the forwards drop off 10/15 yards and let the opposition break us down now and then. It's what every single opposition team does and it works for them.

I already said it before, live by the sword die by the sword, he's not going to change and sit deep.

At least your argument isn't kneejerk like some of the idiots on here.
Not knee jerk at all. I’m very zen about the current state of play. Just wish pep would maybe try something different. For a tactical genius I’m disappointed he hasn’t found a solution to the problems thus far

One of Pep's biggest strengths over the years is now proving to be our downfall - his ability to problem solve.

We haven't signed any full backs for 5 years. We've signed one left back in 13 years, who barely played anyway. Cancelo stormed out 2 years ago, Walker wanted to leave summer 2023 and 18 months on he's still here and is still our only right back. No back up number 6, no back up striker, no replacement for an aging, injury ravaged KDB and a bunch of centre halves who are never all fit at the same time. The assumption always seems to be that it doesn't matter about the holes in the squad because Pep is Pep and he'll find a solution.

This is one step too far though. Things like putting Delph/Zinchenko at left back for example only really tend to work in the short term. We didn't replace Vinny when he retired and we had a whole season of Fernandinho at centre half. It didn't work and we lost the title. He can't magically solve every problem. And he's never had as many problems at once as he currently has.

I don't know who I'm saying this to, Txiki, Viana, Soriano or Pep himself, but buy some fucking players! Not every problem can be solved, not even by the very best.

He's an idiot then.

We will keep losing with these tactics until Akanji, Ake, Kovacic are all back fit and Foden and/or De Bruyne are back in form. That could be another month or two.

Like I said not kneejerk at all. City fans can always question Pep but some of the shit written on here about him is fucking ridiculous.

Spot on. Recruitment has been piss poor.

Like he says, he's adapted how we've played when it suited. Away games vs Atletico, Bayern, Real, Liverpool etc as well - Pep has shown he adapts and can be more defensive & pragmatic. At the moment he isn't and is expecting to get a tune out of players who can't deliver it.
