Sick of reading him say we played good after a turgid performance. We fucking didn't! you don't lose 7 of the last 10 games if you're playing good.

Also just read him and a couple of the players talking about us creating chances, what chances? Was i hypnotised by the walking pace football and have completely blanked out these chances we had? We had one proper chance all game, not even enough to pluralise it.

If Pep truly cannot see the issues, What is his backroom staff doing? Why is nobody telling him his plans aren't working and they need a drastic change?

he asks Lewis to join midfield to create advantage but what is the advantage? because the disadvantage is clear at the back, but honestly I dont see what the inverted fullback brings this season to us. does it make us harder against transition? not at all. do we create more chances due to it? not at all. its like we are just doing it without purpose or because some variation of it worked in previous years.

while defence gets very little help from midfield. a midfield of Gundo, Grealish, KDB, how they are helping the defence?when Gundo the deepest midfielder is often closer to the opponent box than the midfield line when opponent makes a run with the ball on our half.

this high line only works well with great pressing and great ball possession, meaning rarely lose it in dangerous positions, if we lose it, lose it very high up and try to win it back with strong pressing or make a fault up there, or a tactical foul for a yellow. but nothing like that is happening, we lose in dangerous position, no pressing any sort of, and we are just brutally slow with Gundo and Lewis in there, with Lewis trying to be back to his fullback position and Walker is just imo done due to his personal life, divorce, quite embarrassing media stories.
Spot on. Lewis inverts to the 8 spot most of the time. Press is wank and we have too many players too far forward but not pressing effectively. Wheres the mid to mop up?

He’s done the same thing for 10 games now and it’s not working and won’t work with the personnel we have available. But he’ll do the same against the rags and we’ll lose.

Yes I agree that he should change things and become more pragmatic, but it's clear he won't do it, what can we do except complain about it ?
if we continue this form we will see something like this... eventually

hopefully things wont get that ugly

Give him until the end of the Summer transfer window and see what players he'll have at his disposal. At worst he will have one more season.

we won only one game in this terrible run when Pep ditched the inverted fullback bullshit and played Gundo + Grealish as the base, Josko as a traditional fullback bombing up and down. Everyone got a great day even Walker had his best game in the 2nd half when he subbed on! Bernado looked alive!

Then he switched back to Rico the reverted fullback messing up the midfield. Grealish could not get on the ball when he needed and when he got the ball he was surrounding by Juve players. Doku was visibly less effective than previous game because no support from Rico. Gundo could not get involved as much as he like.

I got the idea that we are short in defenders but it is not difficult to ask Rico just simply fulfill a traditional simple fullback role holding the width and focus on defending. Or get someone like JWE a try he is a traditional fullback.

When the things clearly went north Pep just asked Bernado Grealish Doku and later Savio to switch positions without simply acknowledge the problem is Rico in the midfield.

Get him off the midfield. You bald head should at least try it once before giving up!

I hate to say it,but I think I could be witnessing one of the quickest and most alarming drop offs in football history!?It’s a bit more than injuries etc..Don’t love the club any less mind! It’s just like City isn’t it?!We see things you’d never see…

Not a single English club has achieved winning the Premier League in 4 consecutive seasons. They are burnt out but they can be afforded a bad season

Chelsea 2015 was much worse.

I thought the same after seeing him in front of a camera after the game.
His imaginary standards seem to be accomplished if we pass the ball around and Erling gets chance or two. Winning or losing who cares.

And he seemed bothered by Gundo‘s comments about playing it simple.

He is doing the best he can under the circumstances.

Given time we will be back.

A lot of upheaval ahead and I am glad he is here to do it.

Seriously tho, get angry and be upset but doubting this manager is silly.

The player bought have been shit and the old players who we have relied on are old and can’t or don’t want to do it anymore.

This is not a coaching problem.

I’m on record as believing Pep will stay to turn this round. That said, I hope I’m just imagining seeing a bit of despondency creeping in around the place.

Will the older, unfit or exhausted players continue to play two games a week with no substitutions, rotation or respite? No doubt they’ll have to do the same again against the red shite. Will recriminations start to kick in with all the basic on-field mistakes?

A convincing win against the rags is vital for morale.

He's Hitler in his bunker, surrounded by supposed friends who simply won't tell him the truth! Yes, we are so fortunate to have had such a fantastic, unmatched period of success, but the reality is that we are spent! The game is up, and in the space of 6 weeks, we've become an irrelevant mess!

I can see it, the players can see it, and even his most sycophantic supporters on here can see it, although far too many of these fan boys refuse to acknowledge what has happened and reconcile to the reality of where we find ourselves.

It's interesting and humbling that no matter how good someone is they always decline if they keep doing it long enough.

In football we've seen it with Clough, Keegan, Mourinho, Wenger. The only way to avoid it is to sense it early enough and get out. (Maybe Ferguson did or maybe he didn't, not sure)

Pep in hindsight should have got out after the 4 in a row. We'd have been disappointed but he'd have the rest he deserves.

He has been too kind to us. His loyalty is his strength and his weakness.

(All that said maybe he wins us the PL and CL this season and we all wonder at his genius. C'mon City!)

the State of this stat:

Since the start of November, Manchester City have conceded more goals (20) across all competitions than any other team from Europe's big five leagues.

That is damning. The players we put out are still better than 75% of those teams. Playing the same way with inferior players is foolish. Pep, you’re a genius but this is just lunacy. Why isnt he changing it?

He's a stubborn tw@

What goes through his head starting the likes of Walker and Gundogan again, telling the players who can't fucking move to try and press?

He is no opposed to changing his approach at times, he did it against Arsenal when KBD and Haaland destroyed them on the counter after we essentially parked the bus.

Why not give up on the press that causes more problems than it helps and have the forwards drop off 10/15 yards and let the opposition break us down now and then. It's what every single opposition team does and it works for them.
I think this might be a better idea than the pathetic press.
