By far the worst ive seen a team play under Guardiola in his 17 years. Non existent pressing ,can´t control the game at all. Physically and mentally beaten after 60 minutes.

I thought he hit rock bottom at Bayern in 2015, when he had a terrible run of bad results. But this is worse than that, worse than the 16/17 and 19/20 seasons

Real lucky we weren't punished for carrying on with the starting XI for as long as we did. Should've taken Kova and Savio off earlier because they pretty much became training cones after 70 minutes.

Think that’s harsh on Kovacic. Thought he worked tirelessly in a game that was unforgiving, especially for midfielders.

Then he should've been subbed. Also doesn't help he makes those stupid runs at the ball carrier just for them to easily dribble away from him while he creates a wide open space in the middle he should've been disciplined to stay in.

Was surprised that he was given the deeper holding role over Gonzalez.

Good starting lineup, only thing I didn't understand was Kova at 6 and Nico at 8, Kova wasn't that bad but Nico was a bit lost on the pitch, anyway it was an excellent performance and we should've been 3 or 4 up at half time.

And then typically the physical levels drop and we get dominated in the second half, and he just waited and waited forever to make the subs, after getting Bernie and Foden on we got some control and kept the ball and Spuds stopped attacking us at will, except the Son chance they didn't create anything.

That's one of main criticisms of Pep this season, his poor usage of the bench, and again he should've made those subs about 10-15 minutes earlier because on another day Spuds would've scored in that period and we wouldn't have won the game.

Injuries and fatigue have wrecked us this season so the bench is more crucial than ever, and he needs to make subs earlier when we're clearly struggling.

Tough one for Guardiola now. He has to get the attacking four working as a cohesive unit, but he also has to accommodate and rehabilitate Foden and Grealish, not to mention McAtee Bobb, Echeverri. He really could make things easier by using the bench sooner. Five subs, for only the sixth time all season, but yet again 3 come on after the 90th minute.

Really weird decision to play kovacic 6 and nico 8, don't think that helped anybody, kovacic did well as a 6 for an hour then started flagging and needed help, nico looked lost as an 8, didn't need him going forward, didn't have the pace to keep up with the front 4 and was then barely in midfield out of possession. I cannot fathom how they weren't switched or played alongside one another. Hope we don't see that again.

He took too long to make subs, seemed destined to wait until they had equalized, they eventually came but came 15 minutes late, only luck left us still leading when they eventually came. Felt they were largely the correct subs though.

I can only assume Nico played ahead of Kova as Pep thought he was the more likely to create something, be that a dangerous pass or arriving in the box. With Marmoush as a non-creative 10 (really more of a second striker) we didn’t have a lot of creativity from central areas

Not sure you can take anything Guardiola says in his press conferences at face value - certainly not in relation to transfer activity.

The issue he’s facing now is keeping the show on the road and avoiding the perception that the players’ various futures in the squad, or their departures from the club, have already been decided.

The journalists will keep chipping away at the same questions as they’d like nothing more than creating the idea that there’s six or seven senior players kicking their heels, demotivated and just waiting to clear off at the end of the season.
