Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

O
Even if it affects the team's performance? I think this is the point pep was trying to make.

Booing an anthem shouldn't affect the players, it didn't last season and it didn't tonight. We're not booing the performance, were booing uefa. The astmosphere seemed good last night, so the booing doesn't have a negative impact on the astmosphere. We've been screwed over by uefa and they're still looking to screw us over even more. I'm booing, simple as that.

I'll always boo the anthem, don't care what pep says. Don't really feel the need to make the point about the attendance, we would of had near enough 45k there last night.
Why? Sorry but the booing the anthem is moronic....what are you trying to acheive? There is no scenario whereby your booing leads to anything positivie on or off the pitch. Time to move on cheer the team and enjoy what a fucking privelige it is to watch with the best manager and best players in the world....im sorry but they deserve better.

Do you boo when we score as well? Presumably not so you do actually want us to do well in the competition.

The players have bought into Peps ways, the least we as fans can do is the same. I am a booer myself but if Pep wants us to stop he will have good reasons, so I am happy to comply. Believe in Pep.

It's about the one time in the game when the vast majority actually join together and make noise, it should be the kickstarter to a great hostile atmosphere.

Depends what your primary reason is for booing is, if it's regarding the financial side of things, I can live with that, not a problem, if it's because of UEFA's poor responses and attitude towards racism, then I fully support it, I have a zero tolerance policy towards racism.
If City fans don't understand why UEFAs shitty anthem gets booed they need to give their heads a wobble. These cunts introduced a wholly unfair FFP regulation, then bent the rules in order to punish City, who had gone out of their way to conform. Gill's current attempt to skew prize money in favour of the 'elite' clubs shows they're still at it. This organization is corrupt to the core and I'll continue to boo the anthem unless their is a direct appeal from the club's hierarchy to stop doing it.

I'm all for offering the hand of friendship to a remorseful wrongdoer, but these twats never stop shafting us. Not allowing us to sell tickets to the rearranged game is just stupid beyond belief. The banning of alcohol sales; whilst the hundreds of tickets that they demand in hospitality are deemed civilised enough to enjoy a glass of Chateau Neuf du Poop , but a pint for a working fella after a shift is not acceptable - the little oik may get rowdy and that will never do.
The constant changing of rules to suit 'the old guard'.
Their past misdemeanours are more serious and well documented. Stop booing them. Fuck off
Boooooooooooo

I think we should stop the booing because it has run it's course but I have absolutely no problem with the reason why people do it. I'm not bothered about the financial side but they are not on the side of fans and they show it every year. The best example of why is when our fans were banned from Ukraine and lost out because of the racist behaviour of their fans, some of which ended up getting into the ground anyway.

They have no problem fining us £20M for spending a little too much but they are happy to relax their punishments on things like racism. For me boo away, you have my support but I do think it has run it's course now and there are better ways to support the team and protest.

That's fine bud, certainly not going to try and convince you otherwise mainly because I'm in agreement with you regarding what UEFA are, it's just not the fundamental reason I would be booing :-)

sorry...what? no offense intended, but you guys have made 0 effort to comply with the FFP, unfair are what they did to the smaller clubs like (partizan i think) who were excluded from the CL for breaking the same rules you guys broke, and yet all you guys got was a fine.

How about we give ourselves some credit for turning up twice in 24 hours? It was easy for me, but plenty will have been working and travelling from outside Manchester and at 24 hours notice it's not easy in the working week.

With no ticket sales, and only refunds going through, the attendance was remarkable. It wasn't announced but I think it was over 40,000. looked more than Steaua with few away fans and that was over 40,000.

Anyone who was there last night will have thoroughly enjoyed that. it was one of the best nights of football I can remember in a long time. Best I have seen City play in Europe and a really good atmosphere (after a slow start). We maintained our performance level for 90 mins which was very impressive.

East level 3 was open and mainly full.

I sit in East level 2 and so don't get to see how full the 3rd tier is. I assumed it would be about as full as CB tier 3 was, ie not that much, but I'm glad to hear it was otherwise.

I seem to recall that the top tiers in East and CB were open to start with, but then the 3rd tiers were greyed out on the seat map from at least last weekend as they were trying to boost sales in the lowest tier.

Piss off. You obviously don't know anything about it. City worked immensily hard to comply with FFP and were only deemed to have failed on a technicality which UEFA conjured up. the club were absolutely furious about it but still took the sanctions which weren't only an enormous "fine" (which was simply a cash donation to UEFA) but also a restriction in squad numbers which affected our campaign.

Chelsea fan in smacked arse shocker.

Loving the lesson in financial fair play from a fan of a club owned by Roman and the fake concern for the little clubs pmsl.

ok then, fair enough

FFP is not about regulating the rich clubs to protect smaller clubs, it's about trying to preserve the reduced power of clubs like AC Milan and Manchester Utd. Who drafted the rules? The owners of those clubs for self-interest not for the interest of football.

You also do not know about how the rules were implemented and measured against City. City made big efforts to comply and thought they had, but they moved the goalposts, but that is all boring now.
