it's fucking July and someone is adding a year onto his age by saying he is 31 in February, rather like a child who says I am not 9 I am 9 and a half
Its fact...his age is a consideration in Feb he will be 31 and it was in response to the previous poster as why RM would sell, imo his age and rumoured 20 mil.
So ya narky old git, go take your stairlift and have a lie down

so as I said he is 30 not 31 you fucking daft kid
When someone asks for your age you tell them what it is now not in 6/7 months time!

When a third person asks why are RM selling its a bit different ie his age 31 in Feb and getting 20 mil.

Now if you have asked me my age directly, I would clearly have responded 9 and a half

Yes i know where you are coming from, but Pepe is still at the top of his game. Slightly different scenario but - i remember when people on this forum, me included, said we shouldnt buy Van persie as he was 28 turning 29 for the start of the season, and that he was a one season wonder, injury prone and probably nearly past his best.
From that, i kinda learnt that age is only a number in football. IF they are playing well it doesnt matter how old they are!

Its not a critisism of Pepe, I think he would strengthen our defence ..no problem.

It is in my view why Real Madrid want or might want to sell him, his age and the money they could get for him.

Re: Pepe

If the emphasis is on bringing academy and EDS players through, it is easier to understand the purchase of some players who are entering the final stage of their careers. If we continue to purchase top quality players in their early twenties, the future for our youth players is bleak at best.

Re: Pepe

No doubts that he will improve our team but there are doubts whether he is available with Ancelotti being appointed new coach at Real Madrid.

On the upside, Pellegrini didn't want either Robben or Sneijder to be sold, and both of them went before he got a chance to sit in his new office chair!

True but they have sold one of their Centre backs to Napoli.

Re: Pepe

So I'm clear about current situation on this player, can I assume that so far we have only been "Linked" with him. In other words no negotiation has taken place or offer has been made.

Is it just tittle tattle/speculation or is there more substance to our supposed interest in him. The odds offered by the online bookmakers have got us strong odds on favourites to sign him should he not stay at Real Madrid.

You answered the first part of the last sentence with the second part
