I'll take him in a heartbeat. Whatever issues he may have, I trust Manuel's man management skills to get the best out of him. Besides, can you imagine him in a derby match??

Yep. Red carded after 20 mins. for putting van Pussy in the East Stand upper!

I'd pay £20m to see that.

I'll pay in instalments through Chicken Balti pies

Re: Pepe

Right, Nastasic is now injured. what do we do if Kompany picks up a knock before the Newcastle game? Please don't say Garcia and Lescott!!!! We need a centre-half, and no-one has yet suggested a better one than Pepe. Get him signed City.

Lescott and Richards could handle Toon easy.

Garcia is definitely not a centre half and has to earn his corn as a defensive midfielder.

We definitely need one though unless Sinclair has hidden talents there!

he's a complete liability! no thanks

It's clear he does have 'issues'. My big fear is that he would become an attention magnet for the referees and the media just as Balotelli was. I thought and hoped we had moved on from such players? Pepe is trouble with a very large capital 'T'.

And that's the only argument you need to make! ;)

If we couldn't beat a toon at home with Kompany and Nasty out we won't win anything. Away at Chelsea would be a different story!

Made the argument in your own post again :p

I realise you're advocating us bringing in another centre half, I'm just bored, sorry!

We needed another centre back BEFORE Nastasic got injured. Now I'd say we need two to compete properly on all fronts.

One would be fine, Pepe.

Kompany and anyone would be pretty good.

Nothing on telly again? Football or nothing sometimes...not long now.

-- Sat Jul 27, 2013 8:35 pm --

If he's only out for a few weeks we still only need one.

Re: Pepe

Just been watching some "highlights" of Pepe in action
Wow - what a thug - he almost makes Roy Keane look acceptable!
Hope we don't sign him - he'll spend more time suspended than even balotelli!

You led me to take a take a peek at youtube videos of pepe . Scary! Touch of the Bartons about him and doesn't seem to fit in with the "holistic" approach! Our media will have a field day with him too.

But again, these are compilation videos going back several years to highlight his worse moments. He has been sent off once in two seasons and zero times last season in a league with more yellow and red cards than our own. He also committed less fouls in La Liga than Ronaldo, Khedira, Essien, Alonso, Arbeloa and Ramos last season. 26 fouls committed all season, would have made him the 10th dirtiest player in our squad last season. He's an intelligent player, a snide **** no doubt, but has a way of getting away with things like the best defenders do.

He looks a very good defender if you can see past his previous discretions.

Maybe in the last 2 seasons he has calmed down and become more 'professional'.

so would I,love to see him snap van rapists leg.

Re: Pepe

Wouldn't worry about RVP. Looks like his old injuries are starting to resurface...Just hope they sell Rooney, then they will be screwed.

Re: Pepe

In pellegrini I trust.

He's seen him close up & if anyonee knows the player, Pellegini does. I'd definitely have him, it's just the price Real would want for a player of his age that concerns me.

If we open up a dialogue with Real, we should also make joint bid for Coentrao too.

Another clueless punter.

What is his disciplinary record in the last two or three seasons ?

-- Sun Jul 28, 2013 1:40 am --
