i'm not sure we should be slagging off club employees, its not like they have the right to reply.a lot of the moaners are in fact guilty of one offence or another, they are only miffed that they've been caught.
i'm sure nobody in the security part of matchday go there looking to throw people out, in fact behave and you can bet your life you'll not be thrown out, arrested. or anything else.

Bill, the employees have had the opportunity to respond. I sent an e-mail to two members of the management team at the club. One, who is highly respected on here has telephoned to discuss the matter and explain that he is unable to become involved as it is being dealt with by the other.

The other, who is not as respected, has not even had the common decency to contact me and ask for further details as to what I witnessed at the time or what I know of the OP.

If he had, then I would have been the first to tell everyone on here that he had, but he hasn't!

Also, the OP has attempted to discuss the matter with the individual and received a curt e-mail response failing to listen to him; he has therefore had to take alternative routes using different medium including this forum.

spot on & for what it's worth; i totally agree

Does the non communication of Fletcher and his rude behaviour not go against the clubs customer charter?

What a load of shit! Have you not read the threads? Law abiding people, including myself have been wrongly accused, arrested etc and you think that's ok.
If it had happened to you what would you think.
You have let yourself down big time.

no i have'nt, i'm giving a balanced view, there is only one side of the story going on.

-- Fri Apr 08, 2011 7:32 pm --

Go on then, i will play along.

Fletcher has every opportunity to fully engage in dialogue with anyone he and his team are accusing yet he fails to do so on virtually every occasion. Why?

His job and that of his stewards is to make the matchday a safe experience mate and yes, we do have many blues breaking the ground regs with smoking but it appears that the policy now isn't one of enforcing it against the actual people smoking, rather one of picking off fans here and there, easy targets if you like to make it look like they are doing something.

When challenged for evidence he provides none and regurgitates the same line that he believes his stewards and that's that!

Shockingly poor from a man entrusted with a hell of a lot of responsibility by the club to look after the very people that pay his wages...us, the fans.

If its true that the man is a blue as well it makes it all the more shocking. Nobody is asking for a blind eye to be turned here mate just that he does his job in a fair and professional manner and that he ensures his staff do the same.

The aforementioned people have been given the opportunity to give their side of the story and there is the e-mail from the club in the earlier pages of this thread. It is clearly a standard response and the club have said they are taking the word of a steward who then passed a piece of paper to another steward with a description ahead of the fan who has tried to plead his innocence.

Clearly guilty until....well forever!

The club are aware of this thread and the facebook page. They have also been requested to comment by the Football Supporters' Federation.

I accept they will not be able to post a response on here.

Yet they continue to fail to back down based on the word of this steward. It is clear from other previous stories that the stewards are human and can make mistakes. Why can't the club consider that this may have been a similar mistake and listen to some evidence rather than stonewall it. Their stance is draconian and lacking in professionalism. A full investigation should be undertaken to establish the truth.

Is anyone else getting worried about actually going for a piss at half time and being able to see the rest of the match without being kicked out? It's all this constant mistaken identity that's doing it for me. How about if I grow a pink mohican or begin wearing a rival Premiership Club shirt to the match? Alternatively, I can mistakenly identify Fletcher as being that man who burgled my house and make sure I spit when I talk to him...

De Niro, you say you are giving a balanced view? So every poster on here telling you how Peter Fletcher is and you do not believe them? I know 2 sides to the story and all that but come on,don't come on the forum spouting your crap saying if you are a good lad you will not get thrown out/arrested etc.
Good people do get wronged,or is everything black and white in your world.
Step down as a mod as your a joke, just read back what you preached and come back and tell me your right.
