Right first and foremost i thought our performance wasn't great tonight but one thing you can say is the lads put in a bit of fight, we just weren't cohesive enough against a well drilled Everton side with a few quality players.

That said, you do begin to question whether a heated reaction at the game in slagging the ref and calling him a cheat is over the top. Referees can make mistakes they're only human, so lets assume he thought the foul that led upto the goal was a foul. You can therefore say he made an error. A big one but an honest error.

Explain this to me, Carlos Tevez is falling and so attempts to block a clearance with his head and gets booked for it! It may be me but surely the Everton player is in no danger of getting his foot injured by Carlos Tevez's head. Second point i think it was Bellamy who broke and Arteta clearly (and i could see it happening before he made the challenge) fouled him professionally, yet no booking, Given protests and yet is booked, (Steven Gerrard flashes the V's at a ref NOTHING.) I'm fairly sure Neville scithed Tevez down and also escaped a booking.

There's so much more throughout the game but i'd be here all day. Oh and time wasting NOTHING.

This coming from the same ref who had a disgraceful performance against Liverpool.This guy is clearly not upto the job, the blame doesn't solely go on him but surely he's got to be looked into, it's disgraceful.

Adebayor retrospective ban - Gerrard Flashing the V's at a ref NOTHING
Viera retrospective ban - Stoke - Gerrard Elbowing Michael Brown NOTHING
SWP retrospective ban for a little kick, Ronaldo few weeks later NOTHING
Sure Tevez was warned about his celebration against Utd (infront of our fans)-RVP swearing at our fans- NOTHING

It's as bad as match fixing. i'd love to see the panel consist of people who have no affinity to english clubs and to see a bit of fairness and consistency, we're not asking for all referees to be perfect, for city to get home referees we're asking for fairness, if one rule applies to adebayor it should to gerrard, if a player makes a foul from behind and is the last man (Vidic) why isn't he sent off.

It spoils the fans enjoyment of the game, it really does

i feel im getting to the stage where i just cant be arsed with football as perhaps corrupt is a strong word, but lets just say inconsistant from the very top. There is one rule for certain players/teams and one for everyone else, this season has proved that time and time again.

Also for the biggest marketable, one of the richest leagues in the world, how on earth can we have 3rd rate refs and linesmen.

I'd be stunned to see if City got anymore than 20% of the significant decisions tonight. Probably a similar number of the less significant ones, too. The number of City throw ins and corners went Everton's way was preposterous. It wasnt as bad/ obvious in the second half, but by then the damage was done.

I would very much like a personal letter to be written to the FA, on the part of the club, insisting that Walton does not take charge of any of our games ever again. Let him fuck someone elses season up for them. Utter cretin.

The unfortunate thing, whilst thinking you are absolutely right, Goat Boy, is that we look more and more like Pulis, and sound more and more like BaconFace.

But the issue is the most pressing one for the FA to deal with. I am not convinced in the slightest that that august body has the stomach or the moral fibre to tackle such an issue. They consistently hide behind the rule book which is inconsistently applied. We get to the point where you feel it would be better to sort out who the FA wanted to win the league, then draw the other positions by lots, have a play off at the end of the season for second, third, fourth place and the relegation places, and then play the matches week in week out.

Thats exactly what my Mrs said on the way home from the match!!

She comes up with the odd gem fairplay!!

She also addded "We never had this years ago the old school referees were top class"!!

Not sure on this one TBH the scrutiny and pressure the refs come under now is immense and the speed and skill of the players is very fast!!

Having said that the ref last night was a numpty!

Career

He began refereeing in 1986, in local leagues. He was appointed to the assistant referees' lists of the Football League in 1993, and the Premier League in 1994.

In 1996 he was an assistant referee for the FA Cup Final at Wembley on 11 May, when Manchester United defeated Liverpool with a late Eric Cantona goal.

In the same year he became a FIFA assistant referee, officiating in that capacity during Euro '96 in England, notably in the group match on 9 June between Germany and the Czech Republic at Old Trafford, which Germany won 2-0.[5]

Walton was promoted to the Football League List of referees in 1998, despite a reported comment from the former Wimbledon manager Joe Kinnear that he was "too thick to become a referee".[6] At this point, he also stepped down from the FIFA assistant referees' list.

In 2003 he was added to the Select Group of referees, and was man-in-the-middle for the Football League (LDV Vans) Trophy Final between Bristol City and Carlisle United on 6 April, the 'Robins' triumphing 2-0.[7] He also refereed an (old) First Division play-off semi-final second leg[8] and an (old) Division Three play-off semi-final first leg[9] at the end of season 2002-03.

His first ever Premiership match in charge was the 4-3 home win by Wolverhampton Wanderers over Leicester City at Molineux on 25 October 2003.[10]

At the end of January 2007, Walton accompanied Regional Referees' Manager Ray Olivier (a Football League referee himself) to Guayaquil, Ecuador, in order to carry out an "Advanced Course for Referees' Instructors" on behalf of the FA and Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol.[11] Olivier is quoted as saying: "It is also a great fillip to have someone of Peter’s calibre as part of the team and his experience of refereeing in the Premiership is invaluable to those referees taking part in this workshop."[12]

Walton is also the referees' representative within Prospect, the trades union which began speaking for Premier League referees as from February 2007.[13]

For most of the 2006-07 season, the caption writer on BBC's "Match of the Day" football programme had introduced Peter Walton as "Referee - Paul Walton" - a glaring error. He finally corrected the information for the 28 April 2007 edition.[14]

On 20 October 2007, the Match of the Day caption writer once again mistook Peter for Paul.[14]

Walton refereed the FA Community Shield between Manchester United and Portsmouth on Sunday 10 August 2008

Walton refereed Tottenham Hotspur's massive 9-1 victory over Wigan in the Premier league in November 2009.

Walton was the referee on 27 February 2010, when Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey suffered a broken leg after a tackle by Stoke's Ryan Shawcross. Walton quickly summoned the medical personnel and sent off Shawcross.

In the 2009/10 season, Peter Walton did everything he could to make sure Manchester City didnt finish in the top four. Two displays of incompetence against Liverpool and Everton at the City of Manchester Stadium where he failed to keep up with the play on several occasions, probably because he is 50, may well ensure that Walton will get an added FA bonus for preventing City reaching the Champions League.

Am i right in saying this guy is a scouser, and if so what the fuck is he doing referring a team from his home town (I was under the impression referre's could not referee a team near their geographical location??)

Also, how do the club go about not having him referee a game with us any longer? (As i seem to remember baconface doing something similar with another referee a few seasons ago!!)

Walton was too cosy with everton he walked for the second half with an everton player laughing and joking with him Howard Webb was the fourth official and was far too cosy with the everton bench chatting with moyes at one point I thought he was going to sit down with them

Thats two games against these bastards where the decisions have gone their way with two crucial free kicks and a penalty none of them should have been given He was too keen to book City players and ignore offences that should have been automatic booking for everton

Mancini was wound up all game, not just at the end, because of the cynical tactics and the poor officials.

The time added on at the end 4mins was a disgrace having warned them for the slow goal kicks he did nothing about it also howard was down for 2 mins when he got injured amazing that he couldn't take kicks but could boot it out his hands and was never picked up on the three occasions when he was going outside the are as he kick the ball

With these bastards a strong ref is required and walton is not one as he allowed the sly pulls and pushes that everton work on and the dicing to get free kicks in crucial areas that ex rag saha blantently dived three times so bad that even walton did fall for it but he failed to book him
