Petrol prices

We managed 56 mpg on a recent run by maintaining speed at 56mph and slipstreaming the Artics. I understand the closer you get the less the drag but we erred for safety by maintaining a reasonable distance. We also threw out unessasary gubbidge and kept feet off the accelerator on downhill sectors to neutrilize the auntie. Have other bored members taken to utitilising hypermiling techniques .. or do you just crack on regardless?

I used to play the game of stop it exactly on £20.. damn £20.11, nevermind I'll put £25 in, etc.. now though I'm playing a different game, it's called staying at work untill the site shuts so I get full value out of my petrol.
There was a Welsh ice cream man on the radio today, saying he might have to stop selling ice lollies, and then a landscaper phoned in saying something similar.. people are struggling
Never buy an Ice Cream of a Landscaper :-)

First of all I think all right thinking people are wrong.
Second, as you say keep your speed down. The laugh of it is, as people reacted to price increases they all kicked off and moaned. They all said they were going to drive slower..... 2 months on, they are back to racing formula one cars.

Most I have paid is £2.02 ..well actually I lie as it was £2.0199 the litre so there's never a better time to be fuel aware.

Hypermiling is driving or flying a vehicle with techniques that maximize fuel efficiency. Those who use these techniques are called "hypermilers". In the case of cars, this is an extreme form of energy-efficient driving. Hypermiling can be practiced in any vehicle regardless of fuel consumption. That is all:
