Phil and Jack on the lash?

See don’t get when people as so aggressive! I apologise regarding posting anything negative about our club. Don’t do pm and don’t block anyone no matter how irritating.

Just my observation opinion on threads like these it’s a magnet for none supporting city fans just continually slag of our players after one stupid brain dead act under Pep. We will see now how they respond to this public call-out.
Appreciate the response. But to label individual posters with that is abusive, and incorrect so don't be surprised when people bite back.
It's easy but lazy to say if you don't like the early signs with Jack that it means you are not a City fan. Name names of posters on this thread who you think it applies to?
What I see is personal abuse going in one direction only. Best we move on with reasoned discussion...not abusive comments.
Like most of the doubters have also said, I want him to do well (for my club) and hope my doubts are answered on and off the pitch. Time will tell. I have been wrong in the past and so has everybody else on this forum at some point. In addition, I really hope he doesn't impact Phil badly. As a City fan that would be unforgivable.

He certain
Wasn’t Dav a party animal when he first come to city
He came with a reputation that put some clubs off including Real and Barca.

But what a model pro he became on and off the pitch, apparently he liked a drink but always kept it quite, just like all his private life and in my opinion how a top sportsman should behave.

Don’t remember that about him liking a drink. I saw him in La Bandera in town and he was on water. I also remember he wouldn’t eat a Bakewell in a cake feature on City TV because of his “regime”

Top bloke is Dave as you say.

Before he came here he did have a reputation as a 'lad"

Do we know the truth?

We know that they were in a club after the Leeds game
We know Pep, in a round about way, explained their benching in post match interview

From what I can see a lot of assumptions are being made

I don't believe they were out on the lash or were "worse for wear" in training Having watched the club training video they looked absolutely fine to me

Here's my assumption, for what its worth
The players were asked to not go out in public to best protect the squad from contracting Covid, which we know they did and its pissed Pep off

Grealish's interview the same day as his and Foden's morning after was slightly concerning, he looked completely out of it.

Jack needs to concentrate on his football more than his hair. So long as the pair of them aren't joining in with Mendy on any of his 'parties' then I'm sure this is a storm in a tea cup.

Nah, he just needs to sign for a team who’s supporter base isn’t full of older miserable bastards who hate the modern world with all those fancy haircuts and colourful clothes.

Just don’t get why anyone finds him dislikable. Think he’s got a nice way about him. His insouciant demeanour might irritate some, but that’s just the way many Brummies are.

Anyone I know in and around Barnt Green where he still lives who’s met him/encountered him says he’s unfailingly polite and courteous to everyone he deals with, especially waiting staff and shop workers. He’s got a supportive family network too. I know he was well thought of by nearly all Villa fans despite his manifest flaws.

He’s fucked up and he deserved to be called out on it, and hopefully he’ll learn from the experience, but some of the vitriol towards him on this thread as well as his on his ‘player performance’ thread appear to be unjustifiably filled with bile and are not imo in accordance with what being a supporter of a football club should be about, which is about ‘supporting’ your players. Balanced and reasoned criticism is fine, but some of it goes way beyond that. Sadly, we’ve always had a section of our support who struggle with supporting our players as they should, probably because of their own inadequacies and insecurities. They seem to take their anger at the world out their own players.

Nailed it, mate.

I’m not saying this is the case with Jack or owt, as I don’t know anything about the lad; but I’ve met many lads over the years who are polite and nice lads around their family and in work… get them amongst their mates in other situations and they’re fucking horrible little weasels who need a good fucking backhand right across the chops who are simply putting on an act the rest of the time.

What does insouciant mean? Is it Latin for **** or something?

There's a club in Birmingham he goes to regularly, and the owner is a very good mate of mine, who's never said a bad word about him when he’s been in there with his mates. You can only speak as you (indirectly) find. I’d certainly rely upon that more than anything I’d read in the press.
