Pitch Invasion?

Biggest question for me would be what is the point of having hundreds of stewards lined up that couldn't even stop the knobs who entered the pitch before the game had finished ?

We got a £250k fine two years ago and warned about our future conduct. How do you feel about Jeremy Doku being chased? Is that alright? Or a West Ham player being jumped on? Do these blokes not have a right to have their personal space respected? Are you alright with a small number of our fans having to leave out of necessity and miss the presentation? I guess it's tough shit for them, their fault for having other commitments. I might be a "fanny", but unlike you, at least I'm not selfish.

Two years ago, it was prominent during a time of invasions that got out of hand, as did that one against Villa where some idiot tried to hit the villa keeper. Not a peep from last year, or any other years. I'd imagine if fined it would be less than the largely advertised one against Villa. Ultimately the club don't care, isn't a coincidence that they can stop fans getting near the tunnel with a cordon, but nowhere else......

You are muddying all of your points, you didn't want an invasion because some poor sod near you had to leave sharpish. Not because people jumping on players offends you. That isn't acceptable and we can say an invasion involving thousands of fans, there are probably a few hundred who ruin it with such behavior max. I think it is selfish that you are telling thousands, that despite it being how we celebrate our title wins, that they can't go on the pitch because someone sat near you had to leave. It is tough shit, and it would be tough shit for myself if I had to leave for whatever reason. I have my own sob story which has meant this season has been absolutely horrendous for myself personally. That elation to have won the league and celebrate in that manner with my daughter wont ever be taken from me and something she will never forget. The club love it, thousands of fans love it but you are saying that it should be stopped because the minority don't like it. Remind me about that selflish point again.

Because when the FA charge them with failure to control their supporters, they can point out that they took every possible precaution to try and stop it. It’ll probably knock a few quid more off the fine than they paid the extra stewards.

Not making excuses for them, but there will always be fans who go too far, be it because they’re just too exuberant, possibly drunk, both, or are just dickheads. But the vast majority of the fans who went on to the pitch yesterday were well behaved and got off the pitch relatively quickly.

Probably the most famous pitch invasion in English football.

Wow ….. brings back memories, as born and grew up in Hereford.
I had been selling programmes on that day, and allowed to sit on bales of straw placed near touch lines to watch the game.
When the Ronnie Radford goal went in the pitch was a sea of Parker’s ( call out to the Mods and their Lambrettas) within seconds.
Different times I know, but that day, watching England win the World Cup as a schoolboy, and what my “beloved City” have given me in the last decade, make me feel truly blessed.
Better stop now, as getting emotional

They defended the tunnel and the goals, but would have needed 5-10 times the stewards to defend the 400 yard perimeter, and it was proper security on the tunnel. They just may need to get 2000 to defend the perimeter robustly in future.

That's if they want to, they don't. Otherwise instead of all the additional stewards they will have proper security. They might add the Wembley measures in place. Khaldoon was taking pics of it, City as their photographers to get on the pitch. It's a celebration that the club like and take whatever hit on the chin

they never properly attempt to stop a pitch invasion such as the one yesterday as any club is terrified of someone being crushed against a barrier
