PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Whenever someone says to me 'It's not fair, City can spend whatever they like and it's ruining football' etc. I always say: 'It wasn't seen as quite an issue when your club/LFC/MUFC/Arsenal dominated football and could spend what they like so why is it an issue to you now?

There’s 2 issues that are deliberately conflated.

1) Should an owner be able to spend what they want.

2) Is it fair for some clubs to spend 20x more than others in the same division.

It is incredible how many people think it’s unfair for a club to spend their owners money, but can’t make the logical step towards it being unfair that Arsenal can spend 20x more than Burnley.

Because leaks aren't going to hurt us in the case, but they reflect badly on the PL, its processes and its professionalism. Much as they did with UEFA.
But ultimately irrelevant to the end result. The PL could be leaking everyday up to the tribunal and the only possible avenue for appeal would still be related to unsubstantiated conclusions by the board.

if City have “irrefutable evidence of our innocence” why is it taking so long to have a hearing ?
because all of the things Walter Mittys have been saying on Twitter, claimed to be ‘from sources at the club’ about how there was ‘no case to answer’, ‘its 95% closed already’, ‘club would never accept a settlement’ were made up bullshit.

Even if the club does have ‘irrefutable evidence’, they’d still snap your arm off for a hefty financial settlement to put it to bed once and for all.

No lawyer in the world is advising you to go to court unless you have no choice as it’s a crapshoot even with the best defence.
