Yes, which is why the suggestion that Mansour topped up their sponsorship is so ridiculous.
The folk who come up with that sort of nonsense are the same ilk of folk that think getting expert opinion from Carragher and Scholes on any topic other than phlegm and toe sucking makes sense. Here's another question

In our latest accounts we had record revenues of just over £700m and yet only made £80m in profit. Of that £700m, £300m of it was broadcast revenue, the majority, for being in the PL and reaching the final of the CL. These revenues would disappear overnight. That wipes out the profit and gives us an approx. £200m black hole. It's not as black and white as that. The club would still be generating vastly more money than any other club in any league it was in due to sponsorship and other income streams. It is highly unlikely Etihad would turns its back on the club. Yes you would need to sell many top players, but that money would be reinvested. You don't need Haaland if you're in a lower league, you just need players who are better than anyone else in that league. Obviously none of this will happen as the owners know they've already escaped such fantasy sanctions, hence why they've just expanding the stadium
i know difficult at time under pressure but shouldve asked how many watch the boxing at weekendI watched a bit of the overlap, I had too just to see how hysterical other fans are about us going down.
Carragher - Scruffy **** saying it's impossible for us to earn that much money.
Scholes - Fat boring little prick when asked does he know if city have broke regulations, says nothing, city fan in audience shrugs shoulders at him as if to say you don't know to which ginger pig replies well it's highly likely.
Utd fan in audience - sportswashing sportswashing yadda yadda yadda
Ugly Scouse cow in audience - guilty guilty guilty.
The whole lot of them, all mardarse cunts from red cartel teams, are absolutely crestfallen and heartbroken we've won the lot and they've won nothing. It was a communal cry arse session where they all gathered and let their bitterness flood out.
Red cartel wankers.
Reputational damage.Hope they sue the fuck out of spud head for deformation of character/ slander whatever you want to call it when we’re found innocent
And on this week of middle aged men yearning for the 90s, we're going to talk about the Keane v Vieira rivalry again
In the nightmare scenario you describe surely our owners would just 'loan' the club a few hundred million like abramnovich did at Chelsea? In our latest accounts we had record revenues of just over £700m and yet only made £80m in profit. Of that £700m, £300m of it was broadcast revenue, the majority, for being in the PL and reaching the final of the CL. These revenues would disappear overnight. The leagues below the PL also have FFP/PSR, so if we go down there, we would have similar rules to abide by but with a much lower turnover. We would be looking for players earning £10kp/w not £300kp/w. It would be a fire-sale and if after all that, we could somehow scrape a side together that could get promoted, we would be back in the PL at a starting point similar to just before the Mansour takeover but now with rules in place that would make a similar investment in players and subsequent rise through the PL almost impossible.
The club will always go in in some shape or form, of that I am certain. However, this current Manchester City, this behemoth of a club, would IMO be effectively finished by a guilty verdict.
I know that sounds pessimistic and possibly overly dramatic but that’s how it feels to me. I pray I am miles wide of the mark.
Thats why i think there case is weakI’m just tired of it all tbh, the constant sniping and defending of it, if and it’s a big if we lost we’d be absolutely fucked, but there no way they are spending £300 million on the north stand etc if there was even a remote chance of that happening I just can’t see it, the repercussions not just for us but the whole league would be monumental. I couldn’t see it ending with us, leaks and information about other clubs would start to leak out maybe from information we have on everyone, people in glass houses etc. it could bring the league down.
