PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Peter, talk of Arsenal season ticket holders aside, can we expect a much fairer shake from this independent commission compared to when UEFA tried to nail us? City's statement certainly alludes to having a lot more trust in the process

The people who'll consider the case will be independent of the PL, extremely eminent and absolutely professional. Their integrity will be unquestioned.

I don't have any worries over whether the proceedings will be conducted fairly.

Question - can hacked or illegal information be used in English law? When CAS occurred there was a debate around if stolen information could be used, as the Premier league rule book references English law does all the allegations reported in Der Speigal complete non starters? If they are using that avenue to allege over inflating sponsorship, Mancini doing work for Mansour’s other clubs and image rights and it’s discounted because it is illegally obtained company data. How does the Premier league then go about proving guilt when the likes of Etihad don’t have any legal obligation to open their books to the Premier league?
Quite a lot was made of the fact that technically the emails couldn't be submitted to CAS, but City provided them in the end anyway so it didn't matter that much. But yes they can be used here, but I don't see why City wouldn't have provided them anyway.

It’s just all of the facts in one place. He’s not trying to reassure us (or otherwise). It’s just factual information.
100% this.
And as a piece of factual information it is brilliant as always is the case with SwissRamble. A fantastic reference point as well for our financial journey over the last 15 years or so relative to our competitors.

Great for beating the false narratives aired by all and and sundry. For example, Neville spouting about how can little City have bigger commercial revenue than the rags?

Well Gary, the question you should be asking is why has United's commericial income has flat lined over the last 6 or 7 years?

Why have City and Liverpool seen huge growth in commercial income over the same period?
Hmm, its not rocket science is it.

How thick must Keys be. A quick check on Google would show that the full background with Pinto is. He is facing a significant jail terms for extortion, hacking, and fraud on a grand scale.

It's not as simple as him being thick imo, but more that he enjoys being controversial and sticking a knife into anything connected to City.

And it presents the programme as being " interested and concerned " about football matters when it simply pads out the slot with him and Gray.

Bayern Munich have bigger revenues on sponsorship than City. This is Bayern Munich playing in the Bundasliga which is a mere back water than no one cares about globally compared to the Premier League. This is Bayern Munich with related parties such as Allianz, Addidas and Volkswagen.

Why would City not winning the Premier league 4 out of 5 times and reaching the latter stages of the champions league not see that turn into revenue and more interested parties wanting to come on board as commercial partners?

If you apply Neville’s logic that clubs who have always dominated will have bigger commercial draw than City, where are Preston North End? Where are AC Milan? The guy is a fucking idiot and I’d be worried if I supported Salford with him in charge.

Wilson in the Guardian is either a shit stirrer or just doesn’t see the real world like everyone else. In his article he says

“Pep Guardiola’s press conference on Friday had suggested he at least does not share the confidence expressed by the club statement about the charges. As he railed against supposed conspiracies against his club, apparently unwilling to comprehend the difference between a charge and a conviction, and misrepresented the decision at the Cas that overturned the Champions League ban imposed by Uefa, he seemed to be appealing not merely to the baser elements of tribalism but also to be a man under pressure.”

Just how the FUK is that his takeaway from Pep’s pre-match pressed ?
Some of these hacks are so blind to the truth they can't see beyond their own prejudices.

You can get biased tribunals, even at the highest level of the judiciary. After the Kray twins trial, the presiding Judge, Melford Stevenson, was heard at various dinner parties to say (words to the effect) that; “The Krays only said two two things that were true in the course of their trial. First, that the prosecutor (Kenneth Jones) was a fat slob and secondly that I was biased against them”.
