PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The PL have reportedly substantially upped their legal team (and associated legal costs) because of their ongoing tribunals with us, Everton & Forest, with more expected to come.

PLUS they've got the leaked threat of legal action against the PL from City, Newcastle & maybe others to possibly contend with.

The legal & financial web being woven by the PL to protect the status of their founding members, is more transparent than a freshly polished window.

A day will come when even the top-flight clubs who're only interested in maintaining their PL status, will begin to realise if they ever slip up & get relegated, that they'll likely become one of 10 yoyo clubs, trying to re-establish their permanent PL status every season, & they won't be allowed to invest their way back to PL permanence.
Whose picking up the huge legal bill for all these investigtions? This will run into many millions even before any legal action from City. Do the PL clubs themselves have to pay for a witchunt against themselves?

The sentiment shown from this Wyness is pretty much that of 'I'm concerned city are going to get off with it'. So in his head it's like he's already decided we are guilty and the government are going to get us out of jail. Given he's an ex PL CEO is shows you the problem we're dealing with

Given that the prick was involved with Everton, a club who have royally fucked up, admitted their guilt and been sanctioned, I'd say he's in no position to comment on others alleged wrongdoings.

Hopefully yes, which pushes them over the edge to fail ffp and be docked points. How sweet that would be lol.

The pl clubs will pay for it. So City are paying a 20th of the bill to do City !

I been thinking a bit about these charges and about everyone's motivations. All clubs are planning for the future and looking at potential problems.

For the Red Tops the extra income City and Chelsea make from Club World Cup 2025 creates a massive problem when competing and sticking within the sustainability rules. Prize money is massive.

Would it not be a major bonus if they could guarantee that City and Chelsea are out of the Champions League in that accounting period?

For the Premier League they also keep the Red Tops happy and are seen to be taking action to stop the Governement regulating things.

Could all of this be a lot more sly, underhand and planned than even we thought.

We'll make up a sponsor, create a Lucrative sponsorship deal and pay it with the money from our "sponsors".
Isn't that what we're being accused of anyway?
Might as well run it til the wheels fall off.

I am not sure about the wcc and how much that gives, but your sentiment is correct with regards to WHY they are putting themselves through this. Is so obviously under direction from our rivals.

I think opposition fans are starting to see that, they will never admit it but they are starting to see the dirty political underbelly to PL football. They don't want it to be true either, because their club benefits.

Quick search says 50 million euros for qualication, 100 million for winner. Game changing numbers.

I'd assume so. They've got City's alleged breaches, Everton's appeal, Forest & Everton's 2023/24 cases, the threat of legal action over the related/associated party rules, plus an investigation into Chelsea on the boil.

Instead of trying to help their members, they're moulding their rules to protect the Red Top Mafia from being challenged for Champions League places by City & Chelsea, & from any of the rest from challenging Spuds.

The only way this self-serving stitch-up has been allowed to happen is because of PL self regulation.

This is why the Cartel Clubs fear a truly independent regulator sticking their beaks in & prising off their brutish iron grip on English football, therefore halting the crooked self-serving, authoritarian power they wield over the rest of the Premier League.

VAR, fixture overload and how to keep the Premier League best in world by attracting top stars but also having good home grown talent. I was waiting for the City and FFP questions, never came, I was very surprised
Does seem very strange, especially with Jordan wanting to get his oh they are guilty point across unless they have been told any talk of City and 115 is off the table ..
