PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The UK will host a major International Investment Summit on 14 October 2024, advancing opportunities for investment and growth across the country. Economic growth is the government's top priority, and investment is one of the key pillars of the Chancellor's growth strategy.

Yes, foreign investors can expect to be unjustly accused of criminality, with mass campaigns of racial and cultural hatred stirred up by the UK's world-class journalists. This will, of course, be reinforced by the state broadcaster, which will never miss an opportunity to slander, defame, and insult foreign investors — all in the name of good old British fair play.
I'd love for a UAE ambassador to casually state that the UAE are concerned about anti UAE sentiment in the UK when talking of investment.

I’ll tell you what makes me laugh…they call the Etihad sponsorship of City “sportswashing” and yet, Emirates is all fine and dandy sponsoring the FA Cup and the tarquins…as for their sleeve sponsor, all I remember about them (until the last Government deal with them) is what happened in 1994…I wonder what kind of “washing” that is…

It's already started, there are signs Manchester Life (UAE) are reluctant to invest in the huge development for Holt Town. The Council had assumed their investment would give the whole thing a critical mass. The miserable bastards in the London based MSM will no doubt delight in the UAE deciding they have had enough of being treated like criminals. Can you blame them ?

to be fair, we're owned and sponsored. they're just sponsored. quite a big difference.

but still, you're right, where's the outrage.

Plus the fact Rags were the 1st to have major sponsor’s from Saudi Arabia, inc state owned Saudi Telecom but this of course was not an issue for the media or fans of other clubs

Anyone heard the rumour Peps leaving at the end of this season???
Apparently the new York Times is the source, so I read on Facebook

it'll be from here.

According to sources — who wish to remain anonymous to protect relationships — it had been decided at the end of last season that Guardiola would leave next summer when his contract ends. City will continue to try to change his mind, and there have been whispers he is considering it. As those close to him always say, “With Pep, you never know”.

During pre-season, the manager excited fans by talking like a man who was ready to sign a new deal. However, when he was asked about the banner during Friday’s press conference, it did not inspire quite the same level of hope.

“They have to bring me the bill,” he said. “I will pay, I don’t want them to spend money for that. What can I say? Thank you so much. I fell in love since the first day I was here. What’s going to happen is going to happen.”

Nothing new then - exactly where we were in the summer

Not quietly confident, supremely. To the point, it feels like they already know the result.
I sit in front of the top brass in 125. Before every game I turn round and check out their faces as a gauge of what’s going on. They always look happy as fuck! Then I look to my left and see an extension being built that’s costing hundreds of millions. Then I look on the pitch and see gundo has come back. Cos I’m sure he would have left Barcelona to come back to a club that will soon be playing in the northern premier!

What's also interesting is other sports welcomes their investment.
Horse racing, Cycling, F1, Snooker to name us a few.
When you look at how other sports welcome the investment the only logical reason for Europe football to be against this is pure racism

But just look at what's been brought to Manchester, best academy in the world, investment in the local area, We are without doubt the best run Club in world football.

Give me our owner over any American.
Amen brother!

Who sponsors our oldest and most traditional cup competition?
You're kind of missing the point mate, with the golf, boxing and snooker the money being offered is blowing everyone else out of the water.
Creating a new competition with ludicrous money on offer is not a option currently with football as it has been in other sports.
That's not to say it won't happen in the future.

Part of the point surely is the selective nature of the sportswashing criticism. Some funding from the UAE seems to be perfectly fine while some is immoral and outrageous

"Genocide washing" I believe is much more of a disgusting Money grubbing exercise than any alleged sportswashing bullshit. Strange the press or media morons never mention it.

I've tried to explain why in my opinion other sports are responding more favourably to investment.
With regards to football the original point was whether the kickback against investment was based on racism.
While this may be a factor in some people's opinion, for me the cartel clubs are against this from a purely protectionist position.
