PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The vast majority of those who are convinced and obsessed with our guilt live online. When you ask the majority of people in real life, they either say they don't understand what it's about, don't care, or both.
I would suggest that these people are being economical with the truth at best, very best.

Ah a big difference. I’m talking about real people in the flesh, not online trolls.
The only person I've spoken to on the subject is a Forrest fan, he alluded to believing we were guilty. He suggested we must cook the books because we made more profit than United which is impossible apparently.

don't get me wrong there is plenty of that all over the place but 99% is a tad on the high side.

It's also completely irrelevant. Anyone who takes the uninformed views of other fans, especially the uninformed view of rival clubs' fans, seriously over the carefully crafted views of people who know what they are talking about on here is taking balance and "impartiality" to an illogical extreme.

Of course fans of other clubs are enjoying this, of course they want to see us punished, of course some of them are trying to make a name for themselves on social media by telling the rest of them what they want to hear.

But the balanced thing to do isn't to give them comparable weight to actual reasoned analysis, but to address each of their childish and simplistic points and build the compelling arguments against them into your own thought process.

There are few people who have taken the time to understand the legal, accounting and business implications of the "115" allegations and most of them, not surprisingly in view of the importance to the club, are on here. I have said many times that the best analysis of the situation anywhere is on here, in this thread.

By all means disagree with the analysis available on here. But giving equal weight to the bullshit spouted by rival fans and equating their uninformed tribal bias with the serious analysis that you can find in here is, quite frankly, insulting.

Those who can’t, write in the Lawyer.

Always been amazed at lawyers' ability for creativity (yes, I know the title of the accountancy equivalent is The Accountant, but that is a satirical and hugely sarcastic dig at our perpetual nemeses, The Lawyers. Brilliantly creative).

Btw, I suppose the professional magazine for the press is called The ****?

There’s a game or a thread there. What is the title of the professional magazine for ????????
PS I’ve started the thread. Go for it.

Fair enough I must move in the wrong circles, all I ever see is #115, so many charges proves guilt, UEFA already found us guilty, Leyton fukin Orient fans chanting cheat shit yesterday.
Actually those accounts would be a breath of fresh air, do you have links?
I think your basing 99% on the ones that talk about it to you/others.

I've not had a conversation or overheard anyone well almost anyone (apart from City fans) say anything other than guilty.

Friends and acquaintances of mine some who are fans of football, others who are not but know I am generally started with the "What's City been up to, what's going to happen, must be fire somewhere as there's smoke". They all get one go at understanding the situation when I engage.....after that if they don't 'get it' we either go nowhere near the the situation again or fall out.

However, the silent majority of the country either don't really give a fuck or are just plain not interested in City, football or the outcome.

Mostly yes, there was one question that you chose to not answer.
The thing I find most surprising is that 99% of impartial City Fans have decided we're not guilty and 99% of impartial fans of other clubs have decided we are guilty, some huge coincidences there.
Not sure why you expect different?

If the rags were in our position would you genuinely say they were not guilty ? I for one would not and would revel in the possibility of them been found guilty and be giving it royal to their fans about the possibility.

Football is tribal especially in the UK, the facts will come out in the verdict and that's all that matters, not the opinions of opposition fans and pundits trying to cause controversy to further their careers.

I live outside the UK and the press for this tribunal in minimal and the general press/media of our club is hugely positive and respectful.

IPO next month?

Doesn’t that mean Etihad have to give access to audited accounts?

If so, pmsl as there’s less than 0% chance they do that if there’s been any fraudulent activity :)

Can’t wait for the piss to start boiling

I can already taste the salty tears & hear the cries of it’s not fair

Wonderful news

It's a local IPO, but even so, there are a number of declarations Etihad has to make to the Market, including stuff like related parties or anything they consider which would adversely impact or mislead investors.

I would resist this view that most 'real people' do not think we are guilty

I have just been on a golf holiday - 16 of us. The clubs supported included Birmingham, Villa, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs

I was just before the cup game - when I had my City shirt on - that the 115 subject came up and I had the full bingo card, but I would summarise the view of these people as a) we are guilty because there are so many charges and b) why is it taking so long compared to Forest, Everton etc.

I spent the next 40 mins putting the CITY case - which I was able to do thanks to this thread

In the end I do not think that I convinced anyone and everybody just moved on to a different subject to save argument

I have had this experience many times in many locations such as pubs in the UK or when holidaying abroad and I am yet to come across a single (non-City fan) person who has a view that we are innocent - or even that we may be

The Cartel/PL driven media campaign has been very effective. People seem amazed/disbelieving when you explain that there are not really 115 different charges

Great post mate.

Yep, it's pretty hopeless even attempting to rationalise with those who've been brainwashed by the red media. The more you try, the more they think you're just wearing blue tinted glasses.

Even things like Orient fans booing Grealish when he touched the ball, shows just how sheep like football fans are, simply do and say things because other do
