Depends what you mean by ‘go for’ and in what context. I think anything that’s gone before the verdict will be left alone, but anyone suggesting anything dodgy after it’s announced, including inferences around it being down to having the best lawyers will be met by robust shots across the bows at one end to litigation at the other.

I think we’ve possibly seen a bit of this already, as the negative inferences from the press have definitely dried up in recent weeks, possibly months, and I thought Collymore taking that post down so abruptly after it went up the other day was quite telling.

If the outcome is as emphatic as we hope then the club’s grounds for defending itself through the courts will be pretty irresistible and I expect most in the media will be aware/reminded of that.

As much as many on here would want people like Carragher to be held to account for what they have previously suggested and inferred, it’s not going happen I’m afraid.
