PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Unfortunately I think you are right Ric but for once I wish we'd stand up to the haters.

The PL, media, SKY, red shirts and no nothing pundits who toe the party line have caused irreparable damage to City's image over these unproven allegations.

I'd like to think that we as City fans are fair minded on the whole and if we thought we'd done wrong we'd hold our hands up..

I personally don't think we have and our chairman thinks likewise..

If we are proven innocent, it's only fair in my book that we should look to persue individuals and / or media outlets who have constantly slagged our good name off without having final proof of our so called guilt..

Pursuing anyone implying guilt after the findings (if we are cleared) is the very definition of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted to me..

Seeing as the consensus seems to be that they’ve been waiting until the season is over to make any kind of announcement, 9AM on Monday morning would be pretty much perfect (assuming it confirmed no wrongdoing)

If they did know already, you can bet if it was negative for us they'd have wheeled it out when we were in the fight with Arsenal. Makes me think it's positive

I doubt that’s going to happen I’m afraid. The club won’t take any retrospective action if we’re cleared of the main charges. They will, presumably, come down hard on anyone who continues to imply guilt subsequently though.
In every other article until I die, City will be written as "Manchester City, who were charged with 115 accounts of breaking financial rules"
The club will be labelled with it forever

And other fans won’t believe the outcome if we are cleared, it will be brown envelopes etc, we win and they will be suicidal a lot of them, I wish we took Delaney etc to the cleaners but we won’t.

It's a stonewall guarantee that if the verdict is announced this summer, as seems likely (both from the rumours and from the point of view that surely they can't drag it out for much longer?), every other club's supporters are going to say "Pep left because of the 115", even if we're only found guilty of the grass being the wrong shade of green or something equally as trivial.

They've already decided we're guilty and will have paid them off if the verdict says otherwise anyway. Look at the videos on YouTube, virtually everybody who posts says we're guilty despite the fact that most (all) of them don't even know what the charges are, that it's a hearing not a criminal trial, and that it's been brought by the PL not the FA, FIFA, UEFA or as one clown put it, HMRC. So for that reason I don't give a toss what they think. WE all know it's just bitter jealously at the end of the day.
Pep isn’t leaving. He’s taking a global ambassador role.

So just ignore them.

I dont see them doing anything in terms of going after the media but if they do, they'll likely wait for the verdict.

Going after anyone then being found guilty isn't a good look.

I’ve had Chelsea Liverpool and rag fans all saying pep’s gone because he knows we are guilty they are all fucking morons
Social media is awash with that shite. "Why's he going when he's got a year left on his contract? He knows the guilty verdict is coming in, and doesn't want to manage in League 2". There's no arguing with them. I'd get more sense out of next door's manic Jack Russell terrier.

No, it’s basically saying that the length of time taken will cast doubt on the judgement itself and may present City, IF found guilty, with a decent appeal chance.

It’s not saying the length of time suggests a decision either way, more so that it casts doubt on the decision itself and is unacceptable given the gravity of what it means for the club and the league.
Surely it works in reverse too? I.e if found innocent th PL can make the same argument re time passed and appeal on the same grounds.

But why would the IC delay until end of season, they’re not the PL so surely don’t need to time the release of the judgement - just whenever it’s ready? So maybe not next week, otherwise we’re saying the PL can influence the timing of the release

I'm solid in my belief, based on information from respected sources, that the outcome was decided (and informally known by the parties) within 3 months of the end of the hearing. I also believe the outcome wasn't great for one of those parties, which has been a major contributory factor in the inordinate delay. (Hint: it wasn't City).
PB, fyi I am going to respond to other posters on this, I wanted not to, but there is a valid unfolding discussion here. I have my opinion and am allowed to share it with fellow blues, on a topic that affects me/us.

Before I do, making it clear to you first, it is not aimed at you, it is not passively loaded, simply responding to them and sharing my stance. No negativity.

I know this particular point has been a bone of contention between us in the past, and one I have been pricky about. It has never been about the take itself though, but about it being presented as a known fact. You make it clear though that it is your belief, your speculation etc, and that's as valid as any.

Not that I need permission to disagree, but being conscious also of how it might look to you. That fair?
