PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Fuck me there's some bitter cunts in the hys on the bbc article about pep. Trying to persuade themselves that pep wasn't that great due to 115. The media have done their job, even if we're 100 percent found not guilty, they'll still think we did it. Wankers.

It used to really anger me that we wouldn't get the respect we deserve. But then I remembered I fucking hate the rags and dippers and no sort of logic would get in the way of me giving them credit for anything. Now I think it's fucking fantastic that not only have we dominated, everyone else will feel cheated and say we're guilty but for our lawyers and they'll have a meltdown over it.

But much more seriously, a fucking corrupt idiot !
He is totally out of his depth and has been since day one. His catastrophic decision to re run the UEFA investigation after we had been comprehensively cleared by a panel of Judges, at the highest court in the world for sports arbitration, has cost his bosses (the clubs) at least £50m so far.

I very much doubt it was his decision

I blame the PL for referring allegations to a disciplinary panel that never should have been brought before it in the first place.

If they really had evidence alleging fraud, they should have tried to take it through the High Court system and considered sporting sanctions only after the allegations were proven at that level.

It would probably have been quicker as well. Certainly more transparent. And less open to allegations of bias one way or the other. Etcetera etcetera. Just who do the PL think they are?
A great point. The PL investigation was done by a few financial people in a room. They were overwhelmed by the much simpler APT case. The total concept of “115 charges” is fantasy. The PL financial team is not the FBI!

Absolutely accept that.

His appointment wasn't by accident though, and others chose to use his weak and greedy character to do their dirty work, when others with integrity and principles turned the role down.

An individual without a spine and the perfect choice for those behind the throne.

I do wonder what role the non exec Directors have played on the PL Board. There does not seem to have been any scrutiny over what has become a financial disaster for the PL,

Yep or just make a scenario to them! Say you were accused of something very seriously you 100% are innocent but for 3 years there are mentioned of it at your work with your friends the press reporting on the case constantly, you think the some or most of the people who you work for some of the people in your town won’t think yep that’s him he did this, people not speaking to him murmurs around him!

Now say how would you feel!!?
That the line I've used to some of the morons. Just tell them "well you got away with shoplifting for 10 years? You broke the law whereas City only supposedly broke a few rules". When you get the inevitable response claiming they don't know what you're talking about you just explain that you're doing exactly the same as they are, making accusations without any proof so what's the difference?

Good for a laugh, makes them look really stupid because they don't have a response for it but ultimately the best tactic is to just ignore them. "Please post your evidence because without any you don't have a valid claim" is my usual line, never gets a reply.

Isn't there a situation where the verdict has taken that long that a retrial has to take place due to information being forgotten or mis-remembered over a long period of time?
It's not a trial though.

Was thinking the same how can they remember something that was said over 12 months ago. I cant remember what I had for tea last Thursday

Thing is a lot of the allegations are about owner investment which theoretically could be against the FFP rules but not fraudulent. Owner A gives cash to Airline B who sponsors Football Club C. Assuming the cash did flow in that way, there's no fraud, but "could" in some circumstances be against the FFP rules as was.

Last part always makes me laugh because it is said so often but makes no sense.

Surely if we were going to pay them (the PL) off, we would have done it when we first heard that the charges were coming rather than endure one of the biggest smear campaigns in modern sporting history?
The other thing about that is it would prove how corrupt the PL are if they accepted a bribe, which takes away any credibility their case may have had in the first place. Not that it had any.

Just a reminder that when we are cleared, it's because...

A) We have paid £50m for fancy lawyers.

B) Despite paying for said lawyers, we still had to bribe the panel, just to be on the safe side.

C) City are too big now to the Premier League.

D) Despite being too big for said Premier League, the same people spend their waking hours telling all and sundry how small City are.

E) City's Abu Dhabi owners have tens of billions invested in the UK economy.

F) Despite those tens of billions invested in the UK economy, the UK powers-that-be weren't powerful enough to stop all this years ago.

G) I'm giving up on football, it's all about money these days.

it's amazing how many other team fans can hold such diametrically opposite "facts" as both being true. I'm sure there are many other examples.
