Plans for East/West Stands level 2

Will North and South level 2 follow?

that would be a quarter of the stadium classed as exec so i doubt it. saying that, united have done it, so i expect our club to follow suit. old trafford is our blueprint.

So the way i see it.
The North stand over 16s will get moved this season
Level 2 East/West will get moved next season (or pay alot more money and sit with suits)

Where are we all going to go
Down the fuckin pan mate, this is the sort of attitude i would expect from utd. They can rely on world wide supporters who would pay through the nose to watch the grass grow. Nomatter who city buy if they think they can treat local fans many who have stood buy the club through dark years like dirt they better think again. Many fans are struggling to make ends meet at the moment & before we get the `you have to pay for the best` brigade start, its the principle more than anything, theyre making one end for kids & are forcing people to move & now they want people who are sat in the `best` seats to move for corporates. We havnt won anything, we are not a worldwide name, we need to hang on to our local support.City have made a serious error & if they are intent on going down the utd route then i for one will be off to the pub for the games in future.

Arsenal and Wembley both have entire level 2 coperate/ Club Wembley. Our ground has clear similarities to them two.

Having had the pleasure to speak with Danny Wilson at the club today - and it was a pleasure, he was very helpful and good to speak to - I thought I would share some information regarding the plans for level 2 of the East/West stands.

I currently sit in the East Stand, block 204, and had asked how level 2 was going to be "revamped", how this would alter prices, and if this would affect the whole tier, or just certain blocks. Having e-mailed the club, it was a welcome surprise that Danny contacted me by telephone to discuss this.

Prices are not yet decided so it's difficult to say what will happen there, however obviously there will be an increase. In terms of how the area is going to be changed, again this is currently under consideration. Things being looked at as potential options are padded seats, programmes on arrival, more & better options for food/drink, improved concourses etc. Lap-dancers were not mentioned. So I guess this will be decided and communicated in due course.

The information I really wanted to know was how much of level 2 would be changed, so I knew if my seat would be at risk here. From 2011/12, the whole of East/West stands level 2 will be included in the "premium" area, not just the central blocks as I was hoping. So if you are currently sitting anywhere in level 2 of the East/West stand, you might want to think about either paying more from 2011/12 onwards for an improved experience, or relocating to what will soon be classed as a "regular" seat elsewhere.

Personally, money talks and I will probably have to move to another seat to ensure I avoid a potentially hefty increase.

Thanks to Danny for listening to my views and giving me his, I hope the information above helps a few fellow blues.
Interesting post mate, does this now mean the next time I arrange the Streamers and Ticker Tape I will have to get 'Gold Ones' for the 2nd levels????

Football is a business. I see nothing wrong with them catering for bigger things for the future. Just think of all the businesses that will want tables, boxes etc for games if we are challenging for Top 4. Makes sense to accomodate them as that's where the income is coming from.

I agree though it's not fair giving the die hards who have sat there since CoMS opened, an ultimatum of put up or shut up and move.

but what else can you say

everyone seems to want the club to make huge strides foward but not at their expense

there are already obscene amounts of money within football so why rip off working class fans who have supported the club through thick and thin ?

yes, i agree. however, both grounds have much bigger capacities than ours. with a smaller capacity ground we have the problem* that any relocated or new s/t's have no choice but to sit in the shit outer seats on the third tier. incidentally the most expensive seats in the ground that dont sell out. coincidence?

* on the basis that level one/two east, west and south are currently sold out to s/t's, level two is to be exec with the remainder currently sold out to st's and that the entire north stand is going to be family stand only.

The 2nd tier is ST only, and some will fork out the extra to stay. Maybe NS1 becoming family is part of a medium term plan to move people from the NS2 (which is a bit smaller).

If City start winning things and sell out the 2011/12 posh seats, it may seem like good business sense. NS 2 would have to be first due to the away fans.

You are right the Emirates is a lot bigger, CoMS would need third tiers behind both goals to have the 2nd tier as teh same % of the ground.
