Player thread : Edin Dzeko (2014/15)

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Fair play to the lad - looks like he's developed a new hunger and thirst for the game.

The once seemingly lazy and apathetic player is now a hard working and motivated team player. Great to see him pressing hard, chasing lost causes and really putting in a shift every game. That's what we criticised him for hard when we saw Negredo doing it.

Yeah, he still obviously great on the ball, and we've got to accept that he never will be. His shooting leaves a lot to be desired. But if he's doing his job in scoring goals whilst helping the team out in other areas, then that's fine.

Hopefully his form isn't just momentary and continues into after the WC.

(That is if he's still here. Wouldn't take anything less than 25 mill for him atm).

I think I disagree with ''generally poor today'' when he won the game for us
By that logic it could be said that Joe Hart won us the game today.

How did I miss Hart goals?

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

One should be fair in appreciation and in criticism aswell, one day we laud our players oh he's that good etc etc and the next game if its not upto level we start dishing out criticism and use the same players as scape goats,to all of the critics out there I would just like to ask you one thing haven't you ever had a bad day at work?did your coworkers said that you shouldnt be working here?no you continued and got better,
The point I'm trying to make is which ever player puts on a city shirt we support him to the fullest no matter what the outcome,I remember when we beat palace at home and people were so skeptical of dezko that it was unbelievable and very disappointing, look what confidence has done to dzeko Garcia and demmi

Never been more embarrassed by a City players antics than I was by this cretin today. Pathetic wimp.

The day I beome embarrassed by somebody elses actions will be the day I book myself in for a spine and bollocks transplant.

f**koff bluestones........what a stupid comment.
I get a lot more embarrassed by some people's comments on here, fuckin cringeworthy.

That Hart's save was crucial for sure.
He made two big saves

Both Edin and Joe won us the game. The other 12 players made a contribution too.

Hopefully those who slagged off Edin on here yesterday will be embarrassed today! Great to hear Dzeko 'a name sang loud and proud at Goodison so many times.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Edin has his faults. His languid style sometimes makes it appear that he isn't trying but boy has this boy done everything in his powers to get himself a new deal.
He scores some Huge goals for us.
Ed..We salute you.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

After the Wigan game I said, in a moment of anger, that I no longer expected anything whatsoever from Edin Dzeko. Believe me, I am so happy to hold up my hands and say I was wrong. That headed goal was a fine goal. His second was a tap in, but there's a knack to being in the right place at the right time, that's part of a striker's skills too, and Edin has it. Now he's never going to be a Sergio Aguero - you notice how Sergio has this ability to put his shots right in the corner of the goal, where the keeper can't possibly get to them, whereas Edin's shots, whether off the foot or the head, are pretty centrally placed - but credit to the lad, he's had a good season overall, and his work rate has definitely improved. He's a good squad player, but he's never going to be automatic first choice for the starting eleven. I'm very happy to have him in the squad, but I wouldn't blame him at all if he wanted to move on to get first team football at a lesser club this summer.
