Re: Mangala

I see the Mail are now going with the headline that he cost £40, despite Ashton saying £32 in the article.

Excellent display yesterday, fair do's the two yellows, took one for the team.

What was his first one for ? I thought he got booked for receiving a smack in the face.

First one was a definite yellow, he was a bit late and ended up taking whoever it was out proper.

Re: Mangala

He just panicked yesterday which is understandable at 1-0, hope Yaya says sorry as it was his fault! Fairly decent performance otherwise.

I reckon that's because they realised that Camelgob actually cost the Rags £34million, so they had to bump Mangala's fee up to ensure he's still the most expensive defender in English football just so they have that stick to beat him with.

The more I look at his second yellow the more I think he was just stronger than Long and I am not sure it was even afoul to be honest, just two players competing. That said the ref had his card out before Long hit the floor.
Was going to post something similar. I've watched it a few times and I think he slows down a bit so he can get between Long and the ball. The ball is within playing distance so it could be classed as an old-fashioned shoulder charge but the ref saw it as a cynical foul and yellow carded him.

Ashton says "the fraud squad should look into why he cost £32 million"..
Labels his performance as "dreadful"........gives him 1/10

Pretty much how I saw it. Certainly would not have been a booking when I was a lad. I think Alan Smith in commentary called it an honest challenge.

I said yesterday that I think he just having one of those spells and is a much better player than he is being made out to be in some quarters. However, this will be a test for him and (mentally) could make or break him as a City player. Hopefully, he will come out of it a stronger player i.e. this will ultimately have been a character building introduction to life with MCFC.

Re: Mangala

He's going to have to prove himself now, only it will be alongside Demichelis rather than Kompany and that means starting afresh again.

This period will possibly determine whether we are going to contend for the League title and Champions League

Re: Mangala

demichelis revisited.press says he's shit ,jumped on by a few on here.Anyone who watched him against chelsea and munich can see he has got it ,has the talent and attributes to succeed in the premier league, however he is relatively young ,inexperienced in the premier league and settling in a new team and country.with the price tag the press and fans expect him to hit the ground running.he wiil drop a few more bollocks along the way ,but even vinny and zab do that .we are very lucky we have demichelis around ,he can use his experience to guide him through this ,and also teach him how to be a world class centre half positionally and organizationally .
