If he cut out the silly mistakes and impetuousness he'd be amazing. At his age it's normal to have these issues.

Defenders have brain farts, but this lad can be something special.

Asides from one moment of lunacy, he was class today. As he was at Southampton.

If he didn't have the mistakes in him, he'd be one of the best defenders in the World already.

I thinks he's really exciting.

He's young and will only get better.
He's 24, that's not that young. But I'm sure he'll get better.

He's only sure to get better based on the fact it would be impossible to get worse! Seriously he is not a patch on even an ageing MDM.

Seriously now, if Porto gave us our money back and asked for Mangala back, given the chance would anyone of sound mind buy him again?

Re: Mangala

Thought he was very good today, and won the physical battle against Lukako which is no mean feat. The high foot on Eto'o was stupid though; no reason to have his foot that high in that scenario.

Agreed, although I can't believe it was intentional

His passing out of defence is as good as I have seen. Some bits of play are really good, and then he does the odd crazy thing. I think he's trying very hard and maybe making a few errors as a result but he's a very talented player. Unusual to see a central defender with such god technique

He's going to make fools out of a lot of critics

Youre right pal,we should never have released Dunney.

We're on the same wavelength here Marv.

That high foot was inexcusable.

Absolutely no need or possible reason for your foot to be in that position, it was that unnatural, unless you do so on purpose.
You think he tried to kick the player when the corner's coming into him? He's entirely focussed on the ball and caught him by accident

Whether it was intentional or not, he was lucky not to be sent off and you just can't go challenging for headers you are never going to win with your foot in the air like that. He has to cut this shit out because these bookings are starting to add up and he is only one foul away from a sending off if he continues along these lines.

Other than that he played well.

Re: Mangala

I thought he was really good today, other than 1 moment of madness. Having said that, that moment of madness should have cost us the game.

He's still young and will only get better, but he really needs to calm down and cut out these misdemeanors. He has all the attributes to become a truly world class centre back, but he can't live on potential for very long in this business.

Re: Mangala

the media witch hunt for mangala is staggering , hes a 23 year old who has come to a new club/country etc with the added pressure of a £32m fee , and the journo's are loving it , sticking the knife in at every opportunity , we need to get behind him 100% . They tried to ruin Demichelis's career , and looked how that turned out , 2 winners medals and a world cup final , the media know f*ck all , if mangala played for the rags , he would be the next duncan edwards

Mangala, in my opinion, is becoming a liability. That kick on Et'oo was disgraceful & he was lucky not to be sent off. His foot was too high for a ball that was going nowhere near him.

He was sent off in a previous match, appears to be collecting yellow cards like confetti and I am concerned about his attitude.
His 'attitude'?? what a load of shite.

The only attitude he has is one of a winner,he doesn't give up and offers his best every game. The reason he is lacking composure at times is purely down to his (over)enthusiasm and desire to impress.
Once he settles,he'll be awesome.
in a nutshell.
