Even at Porto at lot of us wondered why we were buying him. The theory I bought into was speed for a high line. I'm not convinced anymore.

just managed to see a replay of Smalling's goal.

i do like Mangala, and i hold out hope that he'll have good seasons to come, but what on this green earth was he doing for that Smalling goal?? incredible.

i know it's goal.com, but 'looks like one of the biggest flops in PL history...' Seems a bit excessive.

Hard to judge how good he is because no defender at the club has had a good season. Pretty much all of our defenders this season have had their poorest season at the club. Either every defender has turned to shit, they were all shit in the first place or something is wrong with the way the team is set up.

Aside from the Smalling goal he did OK today - considering that every other fecker had given up.
Saved us on 5 occasions from a humiliation.

For the smalling goal he was looking after fellini, and was probably more concerned about him to notice anything else given the in fluence that fellini was having on the game.
thought he did ok when he came on.

feel for him abit, he had a good game against WBA but the is on the bench for the next game.

No excuses next season now he knows what the prem league is all about.

Would benefit hugely from hving a manager that bothered to work on defensive shape. There is soooo much space in front of the back four.

I am 100% sure he was instructed to follow Fellaini man for man, and constantly be around him when United were pressing, and that's why he was so awkward at that goal.

Obviously could have done better with the Smalling goal, but had a decent game otherwise.

It's worth noting yesterday was Mangala's first game in just over 3 weeks. He badly needs a run of games. Chopping and changing him and Demichelis every week clearly isn't helping Mangala settle.

Why you'd buy a £32 million CB and not give him a run of games is beyond me.

Mangala should play every game until the rest of the season.

Pellegrini isnt picking Mangala or Fernando.

During the title run in last year he preferred Garcia to Fernandhino, Dzeko to Negredo. Navas and Jovetic were on the bench.

He doesnt seem that impressed by many of our recent signings.
