Amazed by the improvement in him. Thought he was dogshit last season, been very pleasantly surprised by him this season.

He has very obvious limitations, but he's solid backup at present. Seems to have adapted to the game in this country now, and our style of play.

Tbf, he was even better when he first started here. He was injured midway through September last year and only revealed during this pre-season that he'd been carrying an injury most of last season and that he was now fully fit and pain free for the first time since then.

Hopefully he'll get back to the level he as at when he first came, but judging by his recent performances he's nearly there.

Carrying an injury throughout his debut season hadn't helped with Fernando settling and showing what he can bring to the team. Both he and Delph will play a vital role this season.

You'd think the huge improvement in him and Mangala would lead to people giving our new signings more than 5 minutes before jumping all over their backs, declaring them shit and calling for the DoF to be fired. But then you look in the Bony, Otamendi and Sterling threads and realise that some people just refuse to learn. It frequently takes time for players to settle into new teams, especially when they don't play regularly, struggle for fitness or get played in a different way they are used to, but good players usually figure it out given time and a bit of patience.

Fernando is starting to look a lot more like the incredibly reliable player he was at Porto and could turn into a great bit of business if he carries on like this and gets more consistent game time.

5th Columnists mate, there's more of them than ever on here, particularly on match day forums and post match threads.

I think that is a bit much to be honest, it’s just a certain group of posters who don’t appreciate that footballers are human beings rather than machines you can just take out of the box flick a switch and watch them go

Thought he was brilliant yesterday, hope he utilises the attributes he showed throughout the rest of the season. Can tell his confidence has been regained and looks a perfect fit for our team, the charging forward runs, his forward passes and the defensive capabilities he's showed throughout this season. Maybe be too early to say but it's like a brand new signing.
