Alright, if there're so much different views on him, I'll say mine with something what for some reason hasn't been mentioned here...

I've respected Lamps a lot long before his move to us, and gone crazy when he scored yesterday, but what he did after the final whistle.... It's hard to respect him as a City fan after it.

He clapped to the city fans a little without any respect while going to the chelskis stand, and was applauding to and cheering them (on the top level, with his hands high and stuff) for, like, half a minute. Then he headed to the exit, and turned to cheer chelskis several times. From the moment he headed to the exit and when he reached it, he only made 5 claps to city fans, and, what is even worse, with a face full of aversion.

It may seem that I cavil, but it was my first impression when I saw it and it was after the game where he equalised for us, I hadn't thought about criticizing him before he did this, conversely - as I've said earlier, I had a huge respect for him both as a player and a man. Even wanted to buy his City shirt, even though I don't like the new design much...

I don't mind not celebrating a goal against a former club and it's a right thing to thank the fans of your old team. But what he did is far from respectable things, and I don't think I'll forgive him... He showed he's here like against his will and he doesn't want to be here...

He showed no respect for City and our fans...

I'll still appreciate him as a player if he continues to perform good, but I would have ambivalent feelings...

Unbelievable.
Yeah, he clapped his hands 50 times for 3000 Chelsea supporters, but 100 times for 45,000 City supporters.

50/3000=0.0167 claps per Chelsea head, yet 100/45000=0.01 claps per City head. Sack him.

If you're talking about Lampard and not my reaction, you can watch this moment again (timecode is 51:50) <a class="postlink" href="https://vk.com/video?hd=1&len=2&q=%D1%81%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B8%20%D1%87%D0%B5%D0%BB%D1%81%D0%B8&section=search&z=video-3168_170273347" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://vk.com/video?hd=1&len=2&q=%D1%8 ... _170273347</a>

"He showed no respect for City or our fans"

What a load of fucking bollocks, he just scored the equalizer and prevented us going 8 points behind our main title challengers, we were down to ten men to boot, that to me is the biggest mark of respect he could give us. He clapped City fans but went over and made a point to clap the Chelsea fans, not because he scored but because they sang his name the whole game and clapped when he came on.

If Zabaleta or Kompany scored for Chelsea and they celebrated this place would erupt.

Re: Frank Lampard

As I said, it was ok to thank chelsea fans, but he applauded to the chelski fans even after he was coming near stands with the City fans, and after he applauded to City fans, he had regret on his face

Re: Frank Lampard

big deal. he's Mr chelsea not Mr man city and he'l never be a Mr man city, he gets a wage for playing football and sticking it in the net, he did his work and went home like you or me, he could have ballooned it over but his natural instinct was to score, he's a pro and a bloody good one

Would you like to analyse Yaya Toure's demeanor after most matches for the past 4 years? Because he more often that not, fucks off with barely a clap, let alone a smile.

But I guess he doesn't do more for the fans of the opposite team

Re: Frank Lampard

His legacy will always be with Chelsea. He did his job for us and showed appropriate respect to theirs. This is just winding up trying to make something of this. He's here on a short term deal and everyone knows the situation. As long as he competes against them, I don't particularly care.

Ha that's brilliant

If ever there was a pointless argument then this is it. He's only here for a few months and he's only gonna play in bits anyway. I thought he maybe coulda clapped the City fans more I s'pose but I've no issue with him not celebrating his goal, in fact I think I'd have more issue with him if he did. It would be wrong. Thought he was a class act on the whole

Re: Frank Lampard

So, City release Zabaleta when he's 36. Chelsea take him on as cover for a season. He scores against us, doesn't celebrate, then applauds both his new fans and old fans after the match.

Would you be outraged? Lampard acted with absolute professionalism yesterday. A class act. He's a guest here for a short amount of time, he simply doesn't have time to build the same connection to our club.
