Frank Lampard just embarrassed himself with this decision. He has disrespected the club he promised to commit himself to. Whether he wanted to stay at MCFC is not relevant -- he made a committment to NYCFC. As a result, he will never have the support he could have had from NYCFC fans. This is not the way business is done and this kind of thing will not sit well with New York sports fans. There is nothing mutually beneficial about this relationship. The decision is more upsetting for the precedent it sets.
I like you.

I do, even if he is a disrespectful motherfucker ;-)
I look upon him as a disobedient child in need of love.

New York sports fans! The Five boroughs have basically told us to fuck off when it comes to building a stadium, an underused site of a multi-storey car park is even inappropriate for gods sake. NYCFC will end up upstate because all self interest will stop a stadium being built. It's like an episode of The Wire...

Not only will you lot get Lampard at 37, you'll line up to suck him off at the airport.

Wow - immigration's improved since the last time I flew into JFK!

Actually its totally relevant, and you'll see him a couple of months late, coming to you hopefully as a Premier League winner, though I suspect you may not like that if it happens.

What makes you think NYCFC fans care if he is a Premier League winner? What exactly is so beneficial about him staying at MCFC? He'll be coming into the MLS midseason at 37 years old without a break in years. You can keep him.
Don't worry about his age buddy.
At 40 Lampard will still be plenty good enough in that crappy league of yours.
At the end of the day you owe our owners a massive thankyou for what they are about to do to your club. If they choose to use their resources in their best interest on this occasion you should just accept their wishes and be fucking grateful for what is about to happen to your club!!

MLS at 37? He'll be a decent youth prospect for you then.

And let's be honest here, wherever he does end up and we don't know where that will be, the only totally clear piece of this muddy jigsaw is that it won't be your decision. Not only will you lot get Lampard at 37, you'll line up to suck him off at the airport.

He will be booed upon arrival - just watch.
Scary stuff

Nothing beneficial?

New York will see a new stadium built to house all these "unwavering" supporters, where they can witness the likes of Frank Lampard, David Villa and I'm sure many more for years to come; not just 3 months or so.

If you don't want a new team, new stadium and the chance to see some fantastic players then I'm sure someone else will.

MCFC is not giving New York a "new team, new stadium and the chance to see some fantastic players". The team would have existed without MCFC - the ownership just happened to win the bidding. MCFC is not responsible for the existence of a new MLS team in NYC. The team would be better off it was not tied to MCFC as its priorities would lie with the actual NY team. There is actually a group of unwavering supporters of NYCFC so there is no reason to mock the fan base. You would be equally upset if something like this happened to your club. It's not about Lampard....its about the precedent this move makes. NYFC and its fans should be taken seriously. There is no reason to show this fan base such disrespect just because we are a new club.

Also, where is this new stadium you speak of?

Well that just about sums up your entire fucking knowledge of whats happening to "your new club".

Perhaps you should stop acting like spoiled children then?

There's a commitment to build a new stadium for the team, Yankee stadium is temporary.

I can't wait to see those unwavering supporters booing an all time great.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

The decision has been made. I'm guessing no-one is going to change their opinion on whether its a good one or mother.

Pellegrini's comments intrigued me today leaving the door open for Lampard to stay beyond this season.

Could be a decent solution. He's good enough to play a bench/occasional starter role with us, and NYCFC can get a new DP (Sneidjer?) without the baggage.

I only hope it doesnt get into another "will he, won't he" saga and that both clubs try and communicate their plans a bit better.

A group of fans who at the first sign of things not going their way are threatening to withdraw the support they haven't actually given yet.
You sound like a bunch of entitled twats.

Please refer to the former:

He'll play out his time there for a year or two, attract a few more gloryhunters to the brand and be done with it having done the job for Manchester City that he was signed up for.

For all of your outrage and moral indignation you are utterly powerless to do a single thing about it, if you leave you will be easily replaced by the millions of gloryhunters that infest your city and your nation in general. You're nobody in the football landscape and your league's top scorer couldn't get into City's team in front of Gerry Creaney.

Your entire club is a cog in a machine and a small replaceable one at that. You will do as your told for as long as it suits us.

And obviously I use the word club in a hypothetical sense there.

Just wanted to drop-in and congratulate you all on your win with a stolen player today.

Classy operation.

Do you realise how fucking pathetic that just sounded?

He keeps playing as well as he is and he wont be turning up anyway. We will make a decision to keep him for another season.

The only thing worse than being a bullshit operation, is being the little bitch of a bullshit operation. Jog on Chad or Corey or whatever your name is.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Please outbid Galaxy for Gerrard and give these entitled New Yorkers something to shut them up. They seem to have forgotten about David Villa, who is arguably an even bigger signing. I mean look at the other DPs in the MLS compared to Villa lately... Robbie Keane, Tim Cahill, DaMarcus Beasley, Liam Ridgewell. Only Kaka compares and Villa is a much better player than Kaka in 2014... er, 2015.
