Wow an MCFC fan calling someone else "plastic", how cute.

I'd also like to end the notion that we have a club because of Manchester City. Its false. We have a team because of Sheikh Mansour, who seems like an alright guy.

And I don't think its in your best interest to establish a pecking order within this group because looking at NY, where NYCFC will dominate the entire city, and then looking at Manchester, where you guys will always be smaller than United....well, let's just say I wouldn't bet on you being on top of this heap for long...
You're too f**king obvious pal, and calling us plastic, well where to start, with either your new club, or your real one. That it hurts you so much that you pretend you only have one club (that has never played a match), it must be working, so yep Sheik Mansour is an alright guy indeed.

You're pushing your luck if you want to stay on here coming out with things like that. But I'll let it go for now as you raise an interesting point about pecking orders.

I'm a little uneasy about the Lampard situation I have to admit. It seems we weren't really told the full truth about the contract he signed, which appears to have been with MCFC rather than NYCFC. But we were actually talking about this at the game today and if you run a group of companies or a stable of brands/products, which is the one that will be higher in the pecking order? The established one that produces the most revenue or the one you're trying to launch. If you're Kellogs (for example) and you have to make a decision about allocation of production, logistics or merchandising resources do you prioritise Frosties/Frosted Flakes (your biggest selling and grossing brand) over your 15th biggest selling product or one you've just brought to market? No you don't.

Given the brand recognition & revenue streams of the PL & Champions League against those in the other leagues where CFG own or part-own clubs, then it's really a no-brainer unfortunately.

Without knowing much about American football, I think he's probably right. After all, how many teams at the start of this season had a realistic chance of winning the Premiership? City and Chelsea. In Germany, it's nearly always Bayern. In Spain it's a two-horse race.
I'd say that's more due to the widespread ability of teams within the MLS being bang average.
I don't think he was claiming that their League is up to the standard of the top European leagues.

patronising series of comments in this thread.
The other leagues and teams YOU listed showing one or two horse races have good quality teams among average teams (for lack of better terminology)

The MLS has a sea of average teams hence more chance of varied success.

Hardly patronizing, it's fact.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

I'm still pissing myself about the official supporters club denouncing the Lampard decision, following their "unwavering support", just about the most embarrassing statement they could possibly of made. NYCFC are vastly becoming a joke.

As for 'NYCFCfan10", he's the hilariously bitter rag that I quoted a load of his posts from the NYCFC forum yesterday. He is in fact a genuine moron. He'll be banned when he stops being fun to laugh at.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Dont compare New Yorkers to the rest of us. I think the whole situation is great for MCFC. Only reason why I was half way interested in NYCFC is Because its City.

I've been researching NYCFC's admission to the MSL and I have to say that the so called journalist sourced articles in the Telegraph and elsewhere are just total rubbish. Most of the NYCFC player roster has yet to be announced and they CAN add up to another EIGHT foreign players to the player roster before the season starts on March 6th.
<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MLS_International_Roster_Slots" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MLS_Intern ... ster_Slots</a>

So - watch the space at the NYCFC web site..
Well of course we can sign other people but we already had signed a player, Frank Lampard.

Then he was stolen by some thieves that swore they wouldn't touch our stuff.

Believe me, its not about Lampard. We don't want him, we don't need him. We really and sincerely hope he retires with you.

If you don't want him or need him then what is all of the fuss about?

I also bothered to look you up and you are no more a New York fan than I'm a Dutchman. See you later.

You should head over to the Melbourne City thread and talk to "True to the Heart" you'll get on great guns you pair of miserable buggers....

Anyway you're going to have a Spanish World Cup winner playing for you, things aren't all that bad!

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

People should take note of that buffoon's comments when they advocate us handing over Frank Lampard because we don't want to upset people like him.

Yes we do. We really do want to upset them.

It's not only fun, it's better for the club not to have them onboard. It's obvious to anyone he isn't some neutral, who wants to support a new club, he's a thick headed clueless rag sympathiser who wants to be involved but doesn't want City involved.

And he hasn't got the message that City are actually involved & that it's City who will pull the strings, not the Sheikh. He has his own work to do.

City will build NYC into a quality outfit, & we should make absolutely sure they know who it is that's behind it, when it happens.

I love the idea of how the Premier League Champions will become an irrelevance once it kicks off.

That's the same mentality as the 'World Series' I suppose, without the rest of 'the world' in it.

Apart from token Japanese teams now and again.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Serious question... why do people here keep going on the NYCFC forums? I keep seeing angry posters who have been there and found a bunch of idiots. This is a surprise?

You have to admit though, it's hilarious having all the rags, dippers, chavs, etc lining the coffers of CFG. They just don't get it.

A whole new revenue stream from "supporters" of our rivals. Masterstroke.

For me I was curious to see if they NYCFC "die-hards" really were upset or if it was just the rag media trying to gin up a controversy over this.

I had never gone to their forum before because I figured there would be rags and other slagging us left and right over this and that. I actually did want to follow NYCFC a little bit - if only to see players like - say - Iheanacho on loan or whatnot. Still will watch them when on but am deffo cancelling plans to buy one of their shirts or anything like that.

How much did it cost ?

True that! I actually expected the nob-head quotient to be much lower there, though.

I still think this is 90% "using this as excuse to express one's inherent rag/dipper/arseishness" and 10% "actually being upset." If you really cared about that club you would be thinking - so who could MCFC sign and loan to us at some point? Would seem like a competitive advantage versus the rest of the MLS.

Plus the way this came off - you'd have to think we'd bend over backwards to do them some extra favours here and there fairly soon.

Less favors and more not wanting to tank a multimillion dollar venture. ;)

CFG certainly doesn't want either club to fail or not reach goals.

Certainly not! Nor will it fail - despite what the media wants to make of all this. "Public relations disaster, etc." I mean compared to some of the silly things the MLS does in steering players to certain -erm - FRANCHISES this is a total nothingburger.
