I want to finish however with a different complaint.

I have mentioned before about how Man City appear to have found a loophole within FFP by having Lampard bought by the club their owners control (New York FC) and then loaned to Man City.

Mourinho was asked about this and said: “Lampard? They can bring any player from New York FC. They can bring anyone and nobody will stop them. ”

OK, it wasn’t as strong as I would put it, but the man has spoken out again, and that must be applauded. Let’s hope Uefa will note Fifa’s ability to stand up to Barcelona over child trafficking, and will themselves have no difficulty in standing up to Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This stuff is kind of hilarious. Lampard was a free agent and so any club that offered Frank the right wages / opportunity could have signed him for free. The only way there would be any sort of FFP dodge is if NYC have agreed to pay him a signing on fee; we are paying his current wages.

It certainly takes a special kind of **** to think this a FFP dodge. I've pointed out to Tony Attwood that if City wanted to use Lampard to dodge FFP then surely a far more lucrative way would've been for City rather than NYCFC to sign him on a free last summer then flog him to NYCFC for £10 million at the end of this season.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

I will say that if we win the title, NYCFC will gain huge publicity when he does arrive.

Getting a has been like Henry is one thing, getting someone who actually just won the title is a different story.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Most City fans will be delighted that Frank Lampard is staying for the season and that NYCFC fans will be feeling disappointed. Having stated the obvious, I cant help thinking that the clubs will be working to provide a satisfactory solution for NYCFC that provides a lift after the last few days. I am sure discussions are already in place to provide a replacement.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Let me correct you, all city fans are over the moon with frank staying.

All part of the strange game of football.
Chelsea had no room for Lampard so let him go.

The game against Sunderland illustrates how some decisions come back to bite you, scorers against us two former City players Rodwell and Adam Johnson.

It is amusing to read and I am glad we have him because it looks like he will make the difference to this title race, but I can't help feeling a bit uncomfortable with the situation. If this was the other way around I know for fact there would be a similar reaction on this site. Does anyone remember the reaction to Howard Kendal's deflection back to Everton? This is worst than that.

Sorry to correct you but Lampard was never on loan to us.

Stop the dramatics !!! Lampard was available on a free.We took advantage of that situation and gave him a short term contract with Manchester City FC,until 2014.We then approached both the FA & PL to sanction an additional 5 month contract.Every other club could have done the same but he chose to come to MCFC after Chelsea basic ally gave him the elbow.
So FL has had a change of heart (for the time being) and wishes to prolong his stay at City.So what ?? Have you never changed your mind over any situations ?
Its about time all this fucking nonsense was put to bed once and for all.If its OK with NYCFC why should we worry.

Haha I reckon Maureen's rubbed off on a few posters on that forum.

Sorry Sam, you are correct of course. Either way, we won't be flogging him to NYCFC for a transfer fee.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Post of the year so far from that Chelsea site linked above.......

The Lampard Vs Gerrard debate will go on for many football fans, but at least we know for sure who the better person is. That's right, Stevie G officially has a hell of a lot more class than Lampard. Let that sink in.

Yeah true. I meant really for the benefit of the Tarquins on that site as my comment has been in moderation for four hours.

It is nothing like that at all.

Give your head a bloody wobble. Chelsea released him on a free rather than extend his contract.

That was not the case with Kendal.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

If anything I think the City coaching staff should be praised for seeing what Frank could offer. TBH I was dubious about his signing but I am happily eating my words.

I do feel a bit bad for the New York fans but what do they seriously expect Frank to do when he has the chance of silverware in a competitive league? Maybe we could loan them a few players for the MLS kick off? If Sinclair and Nastasic do not leave in January then they could go there as they are unlikely to do anything for the first team this year (I know Sinclair has been on the bench recently but I would be happier with Pozo/Ambrose)

Frank is doing his part here very well, a very good professional role model for younger lads too.
Maureen must be spitting feathers that he went on a free !!
More of the same please Frankie lad!

The eye-gouger was the one who didn't want Frank at the Kremlin any longer.

And if Lamps' equaliser against the chavs in September means we will the title by one point, I will piss myself laughing!
