You really know Nothing about New York and New York sports Fans if you burn us we will do everything in our power to destroy you. Lampard nuked the bridge he won't be accepted at all.
Sorry if this has been posted already but it's hilarious. They seem to have a ridiculously high opinion of themselves.
Only in America!
They're getting passionate about a club / a team that doesn't even exist yet! It's a badge on a piece of paper, and they are getting all giddy about it.
We're a club with over 100 years of history and support, a club that has represented it's community for over a third of the time that America has existed as a country, we're the champions of England, our owners have set up a team playing in our colours, using our name, and the "Third Rail" group are saying they "reject the idea that NYCFC is in any way secondary to Manchester City" the level of delusion is just absolutely astonishing!
I've browsed their forum and there has been topics about wanting to dress in "Casuals" gear and all going out shopping to buy Brookes Brothers loafers and shirts to wear to the game. It's excruciating.
New York is a fine city, but the fact you have a strong financial services sector and an impressive skyline does not mean you "aren't secondary" to anyone else. Association Football in it's current form was essentially conceived in Manchester 150 years ago. Manchester has got the greatest concentration of professional football clubs anywhere in the world. It's home to two of the biggest clubs in world sport, and home to the current champions of England.
NYCFC have not played a single game of football, and it's quite frankly absurd that it's supporters club is getting national press attention over here. I hope the team goes on to be successful, because it will be of benefit to MCFC, but some jumped up "supporters" coming out and having the temerity to criticise us, or our owners is arrogance and delusion of the highest order.
The world doesn't begin and end in New York. In fact, football managed just fine to become the most popular "entertainment product" in the world for over 100 years with next to no input whatsoever from New York, so supporters of a new club there could do worse than to educate themselves and learn from people who know better than them. Even if our skyline isn't quite as impressive.
