Anyone else think he could so very easily slot in at a defensive midfield position? Confident on the ball, good tackler, great passer, fantastic vision, great leap.

Anyone know if this is something which he's done before for Porto, Valencia or Argentina?

He's got a good leap, clearance header not as strong as Kompany's but he does add into the attack more. Strong tackles but at times make you wince hoping for him to connect clean.

I didn't want him & would have preferred us to make do with what we had, but irrespective, I thought he did really well today & on this performance, allayed a lot of my fears. I don't know who's fault the free header from the corner was yet, but even if that was him, it's early doors & understandable. He didn't do any mentalist, over the ball challenges, & didn't get skinned by their quick players.

As a debut, can't fault him today. Was better than in La Liga imo. Probably done him good to watch it all. Very optimistic now. Just hope he keeps it up.

I was surprised at times that he pushed so far up; he doesn't look like he has a lot of pace. I admit, I've only see him play for City but does anyone know if he has pace?

Played amazing today imo. Calm and collected. Could have been 3-0 had he not made the crucial block. Seem very sure of him self and does not get caught up field as much as mangala can't wait to see more

A decent debut, obviously he still needs to fully acclimatise himself into our style and play but the signs are very promising.....he has good technical ability,a fantastic tenacity and an excellent composure - its easy to see why we didnt let his signature evade us.
