Policing in the UK

I asked on here few years back if living with my mixed race partner for 18 years still meant I was racist
It was a resounding yes and that’s just as bad as those who say “ I’ve got friends who are black “

I tell you what it’s tough work not being racist these days
It’s not that tough really.

Our police service is also asked to deal with an ever increasing of self entitled cunts, all with cameras who think because they are arrested it’s racism or homophobia etc when in fact no your a ****, they went to arrest those lads and not one co operated, you can plainly see that in the videos circulating. Do as your told and then get it sorted after the worst that can happen is you are handcuffed taken to the station and released, don’t do that and it can lead to confrontation with human beings (and that’s what the coppers are) who are probably fed up to the back teeth of dealing with these sort of wankers, no wonder police are leaving in their droves a thankless task they couldn’t pay me enough to do. Imagine your wife comes home tonight with a broken nose after been twatted by a someone whilst she’s working, tell me you wouldn’t mind twatting person who did it. Yes they are trained but everyone has a braking point seems that copper reached his.
I agree with a lot of what you say, I honestly do and for the record, personally I have nothing but admiration for our police.
And that’s why things like this disgust me. The 99.99999999% of good coppers will today be subject to extra abuse on account of this video. And yes, I fully accept that we haven’t yet been shown the context (ie: what happened beforehand that is miraculously off camera) and this copper might yet turn out to be entirely innocent of a criminal offence - innocent until proven guilty.

How about this for an idea which might help in future situations like this?

Just as assault on police is, quite correctly, an enhanced offence carrying an enhanced penalty, why not make assault BY police equally enhanced and also carrying an enhanced penalty. This might negate some of the “coppers always look after their own” calls.

There are no winners in this situation. The copper faces ruin (and if there isn’t serious mitigation for his actions, quite right too), the lad on the floor got booted in the head, and GMP are now even more under the spotlight and are being tarnished dramatically.

Having a chilled day all on my own and I’m pretty stoned
High chance of a good few long messages that trigger those intolerant of opposing views

Well at least until I get kicked off the thread
Smoke stronger or more weed. You might make some real friends and stop being a cock on the internet. Bluemoon is not twatter. You’d be at home there.

Sky news just ran an extended piece on GMP. There are some really bad apples in that force that need weeding out. The big boss has said following the investigation, any copper found to have broken the rules will be dismissed immediately.

Was he I saw the officer point the taser at him, didn't see it used, have you got some better info.
It was said on sky news and you only have to look at his disposition ( muscles frozen) and unable to move.

Muscular function returns within a few seconds and me speculating here I suspect the police were more concerned with stopping the public filming the incident that they lost the window of opportunity to cuff him. His first movement was to raise his head and then we know what followed.

wrong. The police have to act within a code of conduct
Exactly, they are there to uphold the law, they aren’t the law and it applies to them too. As someone who’s been harassed and even had a wee doing from the police I know there are more than a few bad eggs in the force.
