Political relations between UK-EU

I often think that those politicos in favour of EU membership often have an eye on one of the highly-paid sinecures - EU Commisioner with special responsibility for Tunnocks Tea Cakes, Irn Bru, haggis, deep fried Mars Bars (although this last confection could carry a hefty tariff come Scottish independence) and tartan trews.
It was certainly Blair's motivation for seeking to get us into the Euro

How can it have 'improved'?
There are now more live jobs in Q1 of 2021 than there were in Q4 of 2020.

Our group is the busiest it’s been in 10 months and the group covers most types of job role.

This is totally irrelevant to Brexit, it’s not made an impact either way, which is my point.

Well that’s a waste of time.

EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders has warned of a "vaccine war".

Speaking on Belgian radio, he said: "The EU commission has pushed to co-ordinate the vaccines contracts on behalf of the 27 precisely to avoid a vaccines war between EU countries, but maybe the UK wants to start a vaccine war?

"Solidarity is an important principle of the EU. With Brexit, it's clear that the UK doesn't want to show solidarity with anyone."

What a complete prick talking of war. We will definitely keep our vaccines now as we’re fearful that will be our only supply
Can we have the original French for your source (particularly the last quote) as it's not how it sounds from the quotes on the rtb website?

The only reference to Brexit says

It's a bit idiomatic but GB is true to the Brexit decision to look after itself. As for us, we want to help Europeans together. What would happen if the 27 each threw themselves alone into vaccine research? Some of the big countries would get something, others would be left at the side".

He certainly said the bit about "maybe Britain wants to start a vaccine war" (and was rather daft to do so) but the transcript bears little resemblance to your quote.

"Our aim is at the moment only that all European countries get vaccines, in proportion to their population, at the same time. Transparency is necessary, and not a war of the vaccines. Perhaps Great Britain wants to get into a vaccine war, but we have programmed vaccines for all European countries and our partners".

Was yours a Telegraph translation?

Read it again Vic, I never said you were rude.

I changed my post because my original one was too rude.
I'm sorry if I misunderstood and that you meant you were not being rude rather than that I was being rude. Maybe I still had "dope" and hating the country in mind.

Genuinely that is good to hear but if you are the busiest you have been for 10 months how do the last two quarters (including this one) compare to the corresponding ones the year earlier before the pandemic hit and have there been any significant trends? I can’t for example imagine that there are many retail or hospitality jobs out there

Would love to see people defend this rhetoric, I thought the dispute was between the EU and a company?

The UK have played down any animosity and then these wankers come out with this?

Hows it going to be viewed on the international stage?

Apology accepted. In the spirit of openness and honesty, I had asked if you were stupid but decided it was over the line so changed my post.

Dope and plonkers was a joke btw.
