Political relations between UK-EU

Can we have the original French for your source (particularly the last quote) as it's not how it sounds from the quotes on the rtb website?

The only reference to Brexit says

It's a bit idiomatic but GB is true to the Brexit decision to look after itself. As for us, we want to help Europeans together. What would happen if the 27 each threw themselves alone into vaccine research? Some of the big countries would get something, others would be left at the side".

He certainly said the bit about "maybe Britain wants to start a vaccine war" (and was rather daft to do so) but the transcript bears little resemblance to your quote.

"Our aim is at the moment only that all European countries get vaccines, in proportion to their population, at the same time. Transparency is necessary, and not a war of the vaccines. Perhaps Great Britain wants to get into a vaccine war, but we have programmed vaccines for all European countries and our partners".

Was yours a Telegraph translation?

No I lifted it directly (copy and pasted) from the BBC, was on their live reporting earlier. Now story has entirely gone

@mancity2012_eamo stated the other day they’re in it for a profit and not for the good of humanity.

Clearly says to “no profit or loss”.

This thread goes through every mention of best reasonable effort if you want to really soak in how stupid Ursula VdL has been.

Oh my God. This is gold.
It gets better

Ursula von Layen said...
“No. There are binding orders and the contract is crystal-clear. AstraZeneca has expressly assured us in this contract that no other obligations will stand in the way of fulfilling the contract.”

The contract states...
“AstraZeneca shall not be deemed in breach of this Agreement as a result of any such delay due to the aforementioned competing agreement(s).”

Fair enough. I accept that.
I was talking about pharmaceutical companies in general, not just AZ.
And we are in extraordinary times.

I still stand by my point that if the pharmaceuticals want to be altruistic, sell off patent.

We have enough companies based here that could supply us and the rest of Europe, I’m sure.
