Political relations between UK-EU

Just gotten back from Morrisons - what a relief

I had a shopping list that had what was needed and 3 levels of contingencies/alternatives - in the expectation that the shelves would be empty - as promised.

Just joking - but seriously, of course there is going to be a need for companies to adapt to new processes etc. - we have been in the EU for 40+ years

That there is a need for business change is not really the issue that we Leavers are pointing out.

We were promised that there would be chaos and that the country would grind to a halt - that there would be panic and widespread dissatisfaction.

Companies having to sensibly adapt their business processes is not really the apocalyse that was forecast is it

We are 3 full working days in.... stuff on its way to the uk before Brexit will either have just arrived or still be en route........

This is probably not a good thing but hardly relevant when you hear the FTSE might hit record highs this year...

UK touring musicians hit by ‘double whammy’ of Brexit and Covid | Music | The Guardian

Hopefully some common sense will prevail.
Sounds like a mini-apocalypse!!

This seems like totally new ground being trodden - though - I wonder what they do when they tour non-EU countries?

Can you not see the trend here............

That things have gone smoothly - after years of some posters insisting that things will not - is causing a lot of frustration and making some posters scrape barrels as they look for anything whatsoever that could give them comfort

The departure of Dominic Cummings, who was the principal figure in our refusing to entertain a ‘level playing field’ provision, was announced 10 days after Biden won the election.

A month later we took the EU offer on fish, agreed LPF clauses, backed down on our threat to unilaterally override the Withdrawal Agreement and signed a deal.

Probably just a coincidence:)
Bluemoon benefits from you not only having the inside track to Biden's team but also Johnsons;-)

Wow

If only Leave voters had known that could happen......

Your mate sounds like he has expensive tastes;-)

I would guess though - rather than us going back and begging - we will just get more informed and careful in our shopping habits
Tbf he didn’t say where he had bought it from so it could be the usual fake news continually posted.
I bought a shirt from the states a couple of years ago and import duty etc came to £57.

Yes, as I explained last time it’s called ‘reading stuff’. It’s changed my life.
Sounds like it must be mainly fiction that you read and it stimulates you to conspiracy theories ;-)

Meanwhile - away from 'Bob's world....'

Let’s see what has happened in the world recently

World pandemic many deaths life currently shit and unknown future
Brexit(you may have heard of that one)
The shenanigans of the quite barking Donald Trump
City being poor
City getting better
The passing of the great Colin Bell
The state of our enviroment
Racism rife
jesy leaving Little Mix
And let’s face it a whole lot more

Your last 300 posts 276 of them have been about Brexit, of those remaining posts many were you bringing Brexit into that thread. In your defence the one post out of the whole 300 about footy you might not have done(I didn’t read it)

Now if that is not an obsession I don’t know what is fella.

We all know the answer to this

I am Bob I’m a remainerholic I haven’t been in the brexit thread for 1 day.

You can do it mate, and to help from this day forth I shall agree with your views whenever you slip.

I urge the few leavers left to do the same and I will start

Bob was right Brexit is shit what the fuck have we done?
Tbh I’m not sure he cares a jot about anything you’ve listed that is City related.

I think you'll find that a lot of people in Great Britain these days, especially amongst those i've ever spoken to about the subject, are pretty much resigned on the idea that the fate of Northern Ireland will be decided by the Northern Irish. Not the UK Government and not the British people.

You want to stay in the union, great. You want to leave the union, fair dos. It's really a none issue for many of us. I hate to sound crass but genuinely, we're not really big on the whole "Norvern Ireland is Bri'ish!" mindset anymore. Maybe the over 50's are and a few imperialistic Tories, but not the wider population and definitely not the younger generations.
How i miss the 80's.

Your obsession with this thread you daft pillock. You try to use NI and pretty much anything else in the world as an argument against Brexit. Why you let this rule your life god only knows but it’s very weird mate. You say things like “it just amuses me all this” followed by things like “ I find it hard to stomach” . It appears you try to act all apathetic like you are just passing time on a forum but you let your mask slip.

It’s seems to bother you very much and you may have some personal reason for it but obsessed you absolutely are.

I think if @Ric closed this thread and found a way to not let it spread elsewhere he would be doing everyone’s mental health a lot of good.
Sometimes a 'simple like' is not enough

This cuts straight through the façade that is projected

No scraping of barrels and no desperation on my part to find negatives. This is just a story I came across that suggests that whatever the long term success or otherwise of Brexit this reflects an immediate negative impact, at least for the individuals involved. Your lack of empathy is noted, I guess live music isn’t on the agenda for you when you are enjoying the sunshine in Cyprus
