Post counts

I've yet to see a good reason.

Why not try it for a few weeks and see how it goes?

When buying/selling tickets in the exchange forum it's useful to see someone's credibility and also when having a debate or convo with someone it's useful to see how long the chaps been around. Not judging as such but let's not beat around the bush, it does give some kinda indication.

I would have thought you can recognise people better from their user name than post count and surely your opinion would be better formed on the quality of their posts rather then the quantity of posts.

Correct.

Wonder what results we would get if the forum experiments with hiding usernames for a specific time (say 2 days) as well to see what opinions would prevail as forum worthy ?

They can still be viewed though if you wish. For example I can see you have 204 posts just by clicking on your username.

Exactly. Why do people need it to be on display?

If you were ever concerned about who you were buying tickets off or whether or not to take their ITK info seriously the info is easily attainable. So what good reasons are there for the count to be permanently on show please?

If Corky called me a ****, I'd know that it was just his way of saying hello.
If he changed his username and no post count was visible, I'd be deeply offended.
