Re: One Can Only Hope

We as the fans cannot be saying this kind of bollocks.
'' hope the next manager does this...'' its tough at the moment i know, but losing faith as supporters is the worst thing we can do.

I always back Mancini and defend him but you hear so much about 'a winning mentality'. He's the one that doesn't have it. The players do and Mancini is holding them back. Why does he never believe we can win the big games? He seems to think his team is a lot worse than it actually is. Just go at a team for once for gods sake. Rather lose 2-0 having given it a good go rather than sitting back looking for something on the break. Don't want him to be sacked but he needs to realise that this won't get us anywhere.

Re: So Many Problems In The Team

The thing is that Mancini has turned this in to a typical Italian team. That will never work in this league

I personally think Mancini needs to go

There are way too many one dimensional players on the pitch. Today was a clear example. The midfield was stacked with such one-dimensional players. You might be able to pull this of with Tevez, to go after the ball and keep pressing until something happens, but with Dzeko upfront there is no way anything would happen. Basically, today, Silva was the only midfield player. Kolarov was awful, Yaya, Silva and Dzeko showed some flashes, nothing really dangerous. Dzeko should have done better against Luiz on that one play. This team has no real wingers, besides Johnson who came in late.

Re: Adios Mancini. Who should be our next manager?

The only rationale for sacking Mancini IMO would be if Mourinho wants the job. I've been an avid Mancini supporter and against the appointment of Mourinho based on the need for stability and also a dislike of Mourinho's personal character (it's always about HIM, not the club), but if the window of opportunity opens then it might be worth taking. Mourinho is a prick but turns his players into machines and gets results.

However, if Mancini does get us in the Champions League then there is a strong case for him keeping the job. For example, he's identified the need for more attacking players, like Pastore for example who would replace Barry (or even Yaya if he dares drop him) and give us something new from midfield and possibly transform the tempo with a snap of the fingers. Based on that, if he does get us 4th, surely there is a case for him keeping the job as he will look to fill the creative hole in the middle of the pitch.

kompany, de jong, lescott, were fantastic

barry, kolorov, richards, dzeko, yaya were awful

mancini an utter disgrace the way he set the team out, even if we get in the top four which is looking doubtful he should be sacked. i have never seen a more boring team than we have at the moment and it is mostly down to the manager.

Not many on here will agree with you but I will. Its similar to when a club gets promoted to the Prem and the club decides that the players who got them promoted deserve their chance, they then get 20 games in and wonder why they only have 15 points. In some ways if we get 4th I feel we will have done it in spite of Mancini and not because of him. I like the guy but his style is just not suited to this league, I dont blame him for it, he is a young manager who has spent most of his career in Italy, its unsurprising that he sets his team out to play an Italian style. Unfortunately he hasnt yet realised that playing an Italian style just doesnt work in this league!

I know i will get fucked for saying this but i believe Joe puts in more of a shift than Dzeko and to be honest i think he has more chance of scoring

looks like we only bought AK because he has a fire shot ..

dont think mancini will be here long

boring slow paced football is SHIT

Re: Adios Mancini. Who should be our next manager?

You can call for his head all you want, but there is absolutely no way that he is going to be sacked on the back of an away defeat to Chelsea when we are still 4 points clear in 4th and in an FA cup semi. The only way this club will progress is through some solidarity, and chopping and changing the manager and squad every 18 months will get us nowhere.

i don't think he sets the team up to be defensive, the first 15 mins prove that - the problem is you revert to type under pressure, and our type is more of a defensive mind set

other sides when under pressure just go for it, this will never happen under rm, we will only over win games where we control the tempo, not gonna happen against the top teams

i feel really sorry for dzeko, has he seen a cross since he arrived? crosses are his bread and butter

hate to say it, but after today its hard to see how rm keeps his job - he has to win the fa cup
