Post Match Thread: City vs West Ham

Has AK shot his bolt with 2 top performances in the first 2 games? Since then, nothing. Not seen him put any of his trademark scorching crosses in for a month.
I think so , he is very random when defending and he is getting it wrong more and more. His attacking play is overrated too imo , he just smashes the ball in blind every time.

This was a freak result, nothing else.
On another day, Moses never scores that goal, even after a hundred attempts.
Fernandinho should have cleared that corner, i don't know what he thought he was doing there.
And once again, we have been awfully wasteful, or the Hammers were under the protection of the gods of football, dress it as you like.
As usual, we are on CL-hangover land : typical City.

We have now to get absolutely focused for the spurs game, if the inbred neighbors win tomorrow, they would be only 2 pts behind us.
This would guarantee a disgusting race for the title with all the appropriate ragish media propaganda, don't know if i could stand that once more.

At least it puts an end to any invincibles talk, that'll never be done again. As most people have said de bruyne was great and we probably deserved a point but as I said before the game it was never gonna be an easy game. Bony needs to do a lot more and navas is possibly one of the most frustrating players to watch!
Bony needs games. He should have started today instead of Aguero. It was an ideal opportunity to give him game time and have Aguero as a sub.

de Bruyne was the one player who did himself credit today.

We had the whole 2nd half to do it. Not sure I entirely agree that it was a freak result. I wasn't impressed with West Ham. We just had too many forwards who were way below par....I think you have to look at the Champions League game. That took its toll as they normally do

I think a couple more did. Fernandinho was very good again, I thought Sagna played well (again), Otamendi didn't do anything wrong.

Navas is a winger so he needs pace, good ball control, a bit of trickery and some crossing ability. He should also be weighing in with a few goals (like Barnes, SWP and even Mark Kennedy). He has pace and good ball control but bugger all else. Crossing to defenders is a waste of time unless you get lucky deflections, and as we were outnumbered at least two to one in the box the majority of deflections and loose balls were falling to defenders.
Two seasons ago he was doing it, but last season and so far this season it's as though he's got pictures of Pellegrini in a compromising position with a donkey. (Female donkey of course; there's nowt weird about Manuel.)
Sergio is having a tough time as well and Bony just doesn't appear to be on the same wavelength as the rest.
I think Sterling was subbed as he tends to tire after an hour, but that didn't seem the case today.
But on the positive side we have KDB; absolutely superb debut with a well taken goal. He could well become one of the greatest players ever at the club. But those who think it was the best debut must have forgotten Sergio's when he scored twice and made another.
As for Wham; I'm not surprised they wasted time at every opportunity. What pisses me off is the spineless bastard of a ref letting them get away with it.

Lads lads lads. Calm down , you are going to win the league--and more. I've popped in here for ten years now- and have lately been very jealous of what your club has become- you are probably right- for the last few years at yours we have been horrible. Today, different gravy. It's a new west ham, it's a test for you..little clubs like ours have to take what we can, we ve taken six points off the arse and the dippers- how about some thanks ;-)

I've just posted this in another thread. Hopefully the Mods won't mind the double post, given the nature of its contents.

I have wound myself up even more about this and I've just emailed the EPL to request clarification re the rules on time wasting. Here is their website contact page in case anyone wishes to do likewise.

I copied it to the idiot Referee Association as well, which is here.

Here is what I said...

I attended the Manchester City FC V West Ham game earlier today and I witnessed countless example of the away team players being allowed to time waste at will without so much as a warning from those officiating. This included players being allowed to virtually circumnavigate the stadium before leaving the field of play after feigning injury. Meanwhile, the away team's GK was allowed to hang on to the ball for exceedingly long periods of time without admonishment. None of this was reflected in the woefully inadequate four minutes injury that was called by the fourth official.

Please could you clarify what the rules of the game are with respect to this?

Read a few posts saying kdb was good and ok etc, anyone who posted this you are deluded, kdb was simply outstanding, probably the best home debut I've seen in many a year and he's gonna be a legend, navas was a bag of pace and fuck all else, never known a player pick the opposition out so well with every cross, he is truly fuckin useless at crossing the ball, so it's like an ice cream van with no ice cream, a waste of fuckin time.
The team on the whole did superbly, unfortunately the set up play fell to the wrong man.
Sergio is yet to fire on all cylinders as our main forward and with no back up forward of his quality it needs to happen quickly.
Injuries are defo doing us in and has to be factored in, but having said all this I thoroughly enjoyed our performance and reckon we're going to piss this league when all goes to plan.

So hard to hear, Navas puts so many crosses in, how can putting so many crosses in be a bad thing?

Navas breaks the maths, can we get a Navas cross target please?
